Kelsey Plum 28.1 5-8 Jr
Talia Walton 19.3 6-2 Sr
Chantel Osahor 9.7 6-2 Jr
Katie Collier 8.1 6-3 F
Brianna Ruiz 7.0 5-10 Soph

They play their starters most of the time, the least having 24.7 minutes per game. The most that any reserve plays is 6-0 Soph G Khalia Lark, 13.8. Three others are at 10-11.

Plum is Plum. A 489 shooter (only 277 from three), she makes her living as a 90% FT shooter. If you remember, she killed us driving and getting to the line. Osahor leads in rebounds (10.3) with Walton at about 7 and Collier at about 6. Walton can also kill you from the free throw line. Plum makes 8 free throws per game.

Walton and Osahor are their best three point shooters, but Osahor has only shot 14 times. Plum (277) , Walton (432), and Ruiz (256) take the most three point shots.

Curiously, Plum has the most assists, but has more turnovers than assists. I seem to remember a tendency to travel. Osahor has the best A/T ratio.

They have more turnovers (97) than assists (96).

They are 6-1, losing only to Syracuse in a Thanksgiving tournament in Las Vegas, 62-66 (beating Texas Tech there, 77-73). They have a tendency to kill people in Seattle:
100 Santa Clara 55
96 Seattle 55'
80 San Diego State 51
83 Portland 65

They also beat Fresno in Fresno 89-79.

They are tall. They can drive. They only shoot 30.2% from three. They get a lot of steals. They average about 14 turnovers while causing about 17.

Their loss was to Syracuse (#21,AP)(#25, ESPN). They did get two votes in the ESPN poll.

I saw them play recently. Not a very athletic team. Plum is basically all they have. They barely beat Texas Tech.

Last year, we broke out to an 18 point lead and had to fight them off for the last half, which they won by about six. We finished 90-80. Same team except that they had Williams instead of Collier. Plum hit us for 45. It was only the second game for Gabbi, and she ran Gabbi nuts.

Sharane and Kay Kay killed them. Kornet scored a lot.

I thought Plum played the best of all the opponents we faced last year. We will have our hands full.

I agree with you, the difference this year is we are playing better fundamental defense than we did this time last year. If we can continue guarding with our feet instead of our hands, maybe we can at least minimize the damage Plum gives us. She will score, how we do with the rest of the team will determine how well we do. I think we win a very hard fought game and it could come down to the last possession.

I'm not too worried because Washington barely beat Tech. I think we win by 10 or more.

This might be an easy game at a neutral site. Washington appears to be tough at home.

Since I don't have access to the PAC 12 network, and the radio broadcast is not working, I can only follow on LIVE STATS. We are shooting horribly, lucky that it seems we are playing decent defense because it doesn't look like the Huskies are burning the nets themselves. We need to focus and see if we can get some inside help and make some baskets besides just shooting 3's.

Plum already has 14 pts. Not sure who is guarding her but probably need to make a change.

Kay Kay played 3:05 in the first half. Nobody has scored inside. Vivi has four free throws.

Peyton is two of nine from the field, zero of five from three. Maddie with 8 and Derica with 6 are the only scorers. Gabbi has four as do Peyton and Vivi. Treece had a three. That's all. We're shooting 29%. At least, we are hitting 33% from three, not great.

Texas did not score in the third quarter against UALR, but did win the fourth quarter big to win 66-56.

We had 8 turnovers, and none sounded good.

I can't see what is going on since I'm listening on radio. But, every time OU shoots inside, it is being blocked. They don't seem to be calling fouls on Washington. We had five for most of the second quarter. The Huskies never got to five. Same number of fouls total?

It doesn't help that Kay Kay has two fouls. We need some strength inside. But, we need some help from Gabbi or Peyton. Every time Peyton has a bad game, we lose?

We've had a couple of different people on Plum.

Has anybody noticed how the TV commentators are very purposefully pronouncing Louis' name? In fact, when one of them slipped, the other corrected her.
