One person appears to have some issues with the teammates. A possibility.
Scott is a slightly bigger version of Madi who is a bit more offensive. I don't think she is better, just different.
Madi is a star who simply needs some help. It doesn''t help if the other team feels they can use their post and PF to cover you. Get someone else inside.
Sherri made the comment last night on her show that Jessi, Ana, and Nydia are going to be excellent stars. I don't think there was any doubt on Madi. Jessi and Nydia are beginning to get the idea of what college is about. She said last week that Tatum would make it this year. It'll come together.
Bloom. I just hope that she can play 6-4. She usually likes to face the basket. Likes to run, shoot from anywhere. Quick on putback. In only one game did I see her play the role of a banger. She was dominant for about ten minutes when she did. Took over all aspects of a game: blocked shots, boards, putbacks, defense. Everything within ten feet belonged to her. I haven't seen that attitude but rarely. We'll see what develops.
Sometimes kids have to find a place to fit. If you have a Madi, that changes what you need from Bloom.
I always had the feeling that Courtney, Amanda, and Ashley had a problem if they were on the court with each other. They all played the same role. Amanda seemed to be more effective when Courtney and Ashley left. I felt that Rush was a post who moved to PF when Courtney came, and she wasn't rearly a forward. I loved having Amanda with Abi a lot more than with the Paris'. Would love to have had a Llanusa when Courtney was here.
I'm interested to see how the fits work when we have Bloom, Nydia (Aspen?), Madi, and Liz. Who helps, and who fights for the same space? How does the combination affect Ana or Gabby? If you have a couple of scorers, Taylor's role changes because they can;t go out to her as much. Can Shaina develop a role in which she is effective? Jessi seems to be doing it. Shooting 50% from guard.
I was always disappointed that Nyeshia was so quick, but used it so little on defense. i was surprised that she became a shooter. I would have thought she would use her quickness to steal and get layups. I expected the same of Shaina. But, they have to find the fit that works for them. I think Shaina should concentrate on defense and a short jump shot. DRob learned to hit a fifteen footer, along with layups and free throws. Still can''t hit the three.
