We're a team with one #1 and a couple of #3s and #4s

Yes, yes I do!

I’m surprised we haven’t settled on a nine or ten man rotation this deep into the season. Doolittle delayed that some, of course. And, then, there are the inconsistencies we’ve talked about, especially with our bigs. But I would like to see a shorter bench so our best players can settle into their roles faster.

Things might be headed that way. We basically played 10 guys last night, and one of those 10 (Freeman) didn't play much, if at all, in the second half. Muni and Kam will obviously play a lot every game, and Shep is going to get a couple minutes a half to spell Trae. I think Doo will continue getting more and more minutes, and Freeman's minutes will probably depend on matchups and how well he plays on a given night. Notice Lazenby didn't play till the last 30 second last night, and I don't think he played at West Virginia. Things would probably have been settled much sooner if Doo had been available all season.

Time has come to trim the roster for the gut check that is the Big 12.

Agreed completely and, to get more than 5-10 minutes, McGusty must play better, particularly on the defensive end. I thought as of the 1st TCU game he'd turned the corner but I'm not sure that's the case.

Outside of Shepard, do we have anyone on the roster that is capable of playing the 1 and the offense not being an absolute catastrophe? Trae needs breathers, and unfortunately, I'm losing confidence in Shep as each game passes. Just wondering if there were any other alternatives.

Christian James seems to average one traveling violation for every 6 dribbles

It's hard to imagine that one loss like this spurns so much "sky falling" rhetoric. Is everything peaches and cream? No. Is this team highly overrated? Not in my opinion. KSU couldn't miss anything. Sure, they had a lot of uncontested shots go in, but they even couldn't miss on contested shots. I see this game as an outlier right now. One or two in the near future just like it and then I'll start to worry a bit.

I wasn't trying to imply the "sky is falling." I have a lot of faith in Tre and I believe he can win us a lot of games on his own. He's basically already done that quite a few times.

My point was that we really are missing a critical element great teams need to make it past Sweet 16. Buddy had Cousins. Hollis Price had "Ace" Mcgee. Blake had Warren. Those players could and did take over games from time to time.

We don't really have a player like that on this team. We have several that would've made good #3's on those teams but no one that can take over on a bad night for Tre like last night.

I think you are selling the other guys short. If we didn't have Trae we would be raving over Manek's play.

McGusty and Doolittle have a lot of upside. We are a deep team with a lot of parts. Doolittle missing the pre-conference play has hurt.

Odomes is really good too. There is more to basketball than scoring points.

I like that he took a 3 against KSU. If he's wide open, he needs to shoot it, just so other teams respect the shot. If he can bury 35% of wide open 3 point attempts (which I'm sure he can do), that will open thins up for him a ton. Right now he gets into trouble because defenders sag off of him and can prevent make it more difficult for him to slash.

I keep reading about "contested shots" from ksu...from what I saw I didn't see us contest many shots. I'd say MOST of the shots (especially be Wade) were not contested.

We closed out on him about the time he let the shot go...with a semi hand in his space...to me that isn't contested.

We gave up a ton of un-contested shots...sagged in then gave up kick-outs.

BUT...game is over, hopefully there is an emphasis on tight man D for Sat.

just my 2 cents.
