Okay, might as well start talking about it now. Does anyone believe we can pull off the season sweep tomorrow night and beat them? I feel like they will probably be out for blood and we would have to play exceptionally well in order to do so. Seeing that it's a home game the odds are not completely against us. We desperately need to win this game in order to keep any tournament hopes alive...

Thoughts anyone?

I would expect us to go with the bigger lineup primarily this game. If we can get Taylor some good looks and keep turnovers under 20 I think we can win. The snow means a crowd of under 1000 but I saw OU is making admission free for the game.

I think the girls win a close hard fought game. Taylor is playing well, and I think 'Cuda is right, if we go big, we can own the paint, giving Taylor opportunities.

Good solid win tonight, rebounding, scoring and defense. Still a few turnovers but if they continue to play like tonight we can live with it.

Good game overall. Love the Robertson/ Williams back court duo. Really nice to have Ana back.

We are making some great strides forward. Simpson sure plays hard and is a smart player.

My biggest observation was how under control Ana played tonight. No helter skelter play to stymie the positive side of her game. We also had only 1 TO the first 8.5 minutes to start the 2nd half. Won the boards by 13 which was an improvement over Morgantown.

Not running the offense totally through Taylor this game I was hoping Taylor would get a 1.0-1.5 minutes rest around a timeout or 2 but no she still played her full 40 minutes.

We really need to win at ISU which is a tough place to play. Win in Ames with wins over OSU, Kansas and Tech and we are 16-14 for the regular season which is double the 8 wins last year and a definite step forward for this team despite how much we have cussed this team self included.

My prediction ended up being totally wrong. Encouraging to win a game over a good team when Taylor misses 3s she usually makes.

Yeah, I expected it. We completed the sweep and we didn't even play particularly well to do so.

Yeah. Well, Taylor didn't get many good looks and we didn't keep turnovers under 20 (we had 23). But we won anyway.

The Mountaineers did a good job on Taylor last night. But Maddie and Ana were fantastic. My daughter and I watched from the front row, courtside, with about 750 of our closest Sooner brethren. It was a ton of fun.

04 - what are your thoughts on the future of the program? Do we have hope? I think we're getting better...

Those screen attempts were brutal. Their #5 (tough and tough looking player) would lower her shoulder and charge through the screens to prevent Robertson from setting up. Mandy Simpson took a beating. I think the refs let them play. Interesting that we out-rebounded them 45-31 and we shot more free throws (23-9).

Other teams have to go to such great lengths to prevent Roberston from hammering them with threes that they are vulnerable to being torched by Williams and Llanusa.

It's really hard to evaluate what is going on with this basketball team.
Two steps forward, two steps backward. Two steps to the side??
It's certainly going to end up with a better record than last year.
But NCAA tourney bound? I don't think so.
The real worry for me is the lack of incoming talent from the 2020 recruiting class.

Hi, SK!

Better is relative. They have a long way to go to get back to what used to be the base line for Coale's program. What struck me last night was how unathletic we looked overall. It was surprising to see it up close.

Two steps forward, two steps backward and two steps to the side would be no progress at all. If you can't see the progress this team has made there's not much I can say.

Since we have no seniors on this team the 2020 recruiting class will be small. The talent is yet to be determined.

I think with the players we have we could definitely get better. Of course, maybe we will get a really good player in next year or we have one that will be good. I don't know. Now, with teams since 2010, not all but some, that has not been the case. jmo
I have a feeling that this team will get better. Williams keeps improving, Simpson, Gregory too. Ana is hard to tell this year because of injury but I really like her. She just has such a good attitude. So if she is coached properly, she could be really good. Well, I think she could.

As far as progress of the team, everyone sees things differently for so many different reasons. Access to seeing team in action, etc. They do seem to progress and then go backwards. Biggest thing to me is turnovers, but that has been a big thing for OU WOMEN for years, as I recall. They do seem to be improving on free throws or maybe that is that the ones who haven't improved haven't been fouled frequently. Don't know.
