Newell isn't the problem, his is just a matter of getting all of his transcripts in line and puttin everything together for the NCAA. Cam is the one we that needs to get it together.

Don't think the school's individual academic enrollment standards mean a thing to athletes on scholarships. I believe they (athletes) have their own separate conference-wide standards. So, if he can't get into one Big XII school he can't get into any of them.

That's how I always interpreted it, anyways.

I had never heard anything that Clark might not qualify. Newell, I thought might be a risk. I wondered why a lot of the big time schools weren't offering him. It makes more sense now that we see is having grade problems.

Marquette made the final cut for Clark and that is a tough academic school so I never thought there would be grade issues.

I hope Clark can get it going, what it is about basketball players that sign with OU named Clark, lol.

I absolutely cannot wait for that season to start. This reminds me of when I couldnt wait for the first year that the Griffins boys were going to be together. Even if Cam/Calvin don't make it, I really think this roster could make a very good team. Just so much experience and if people stay around it will easily be the oldest team Capel has had at OU.

I'm not sure if you're serious but I admit to wondering if he lost some motivation to ensure his eligibility based on the past 9 months.

I don't mean to insinuate that it was intentional, but I don't think it's crazy to wonder if it played some role.

If he did indeed lose motivation based on what the sooners did then he is an idiot and i hope he doesnt attend OU...

make sure you read that closely, i said IF...

Also, IF that is the reason he just hurt his chances of playing anywhere at the D1 level...and like Play said, you have to really not try to become eligible...

If TMG can qualify then Cam assuredly can and easily should. Let's wait to see how this plays out before getting too crazy guys but yeah, this one will hurt really, really bad if it falls on the wrong side.

Are they really having grade problems though? Newell has always had problems hasn't he....that's why people have backed off him...but this is the first I've heard of Cam. I think Cam is the key to the season.

Cam,is working for his Dad this summer and recieved his transcript late and thats the fact.

Also just went through some of the other posts here, I know most of whats being said is just a result of us really being scared that Cam won't qualify but making up stories of how he doesn't want to come to OU etc sounds a bit much.

Even with all the crap that went down this past year Cam never waivered and said he was 100% OU, something not many kids who are as talented and as highly ranked as he is would have done. Again lets wait for things to play out, we owe him and his family at least that much.
