Whatever guys. Saying things like "I didn't lie" doesn't make putting rumors and partial info concerning bad things on this board any better. "Not lying" isn't the same thing as telling the full truth. Telling partial truths and mixing in opinion when no one else knows anything is what is going on here. I'm not saying anyone did anything malicious. What I am saying is OUguy11 you gave ambiguous bits of info without telling the full situation. By reading your ambiguous/gloomy posts we thought at least 1 or 2 prized recruits were not gonna make it here. You wrote like you had a close source and your judgement was they wouldn't make it; we had no idea so we only had your posts to rely on. Then you didn't post any updates on how the situation was progressing. Putting stuff like that on this message board (after last years crap) was surely going to lead to everyone going crazy. Then no one actually had the full info to let us know whether we are going to lose 2 good future players!
So my problem is the with person who started this by putting out the partial info. Did you have the full info or a source with full knowledge? If so you only gave us part of what you knew (then never updated us about how they were progressing). Seems more likely you only knew partial information on the situation but put it out there anyway knowing it might not end up panning out. You had to know it would kill us. I mean you can't just put out ominous news if you only have part of the story man. After the past month of shatty reporting from ESPN and every crappy so-called reporter, I'm done with this internet innuendo. Conference realignment and NBA free agent rumors made me sick of the culture of reporting rumors or partial information without knowing the full story, and reporting these "rumors" as if that is news. No, it's not. Everyone wants to know everything the second it happens, knowing that day isn't even fast enough. Vanity of vanities sayeth the preacher. This situation is just more of the same.
I only speak for myself here. I say if you can't research into the full truth and consequences of information you tell people, you're disseminating half truths. If all a person has is partial information to offer, then that person should keep it to themselves. It can't help because it's not final, but it can hurt. I lost a few hours this week worrying about this rumored situation which may not even be one if their grades get right. It makes me wonder if I've ever gained anything from a rumor. If all I gained was time, knowing something before it's reported worldwide, then I've surely lost more time on rumors than I ever gained. Ouguy11 you seem like a good dude from what I can gather on a message board, but if these guys end up at school you have to realize this hurts your credibility. Even if they don't end up here we won't know that until it is final for weeks or months, so all we get to do now is worry. That sucks. No one wins this game. Count me out.[/QUOTHE]
