What? Cam and Calvin grade issues?

To me, "I agree that Cam would be the key, but he's so far behind the 8 ball now it may not matter." is pretty crazy.

Would you not agree that 3 classes in the matter of 2 months to be made up and achieve a certain grade, for a kid that didn't perform well in the class room over 4 years, is rather difficult??

I said it MAY not matter. I feel like that is a rather good way of putting it.
You seem to be the only one taking offense to this...

Not taking offense, just trying to figure out what is really going on. There are posts on this thread that suggest that everything is rosy and there are other posts that suggest doom & gloom. Most of the reactions are to implications from a few posters. You are one of those few and the content of your earlier posts was ambiguous.

Most of the recent posts have been of the "Yes, that's great news!" type, in contrast to the tone of your posts.

This most recent post of yours is a lot clearer. Thank you.

OUguy11 knows what is going on and is a good source.
What is going on is neither "rosy" nor "doom and gloom". Instead, it is cause for concern, and that is what has been stated by OUguy11.
Sounds like Cam is working hard to get here and that is a great thing. That doesn't change the fact, however, that until he is qualified and on campus, there is still cause for concern.

This isn't my thread, mine spelled it out more clearly. These recent posts i trust and hope to be true. If so things have changed in our favor!

Until he shows up in Norman, count me in the "worried" camp.

I'm in your camp too, camp (man that is a horrible pun)

I know from personal experience that OUguy11 has legitimate info.

I don't see how OUguy's info contradicts with any of the other reports. OUguy said that Cam was struggling to qualify. I would say that taking 3 summer classes to meet qualifications is struggling to qualify.

I hope Cam works hard and perseveres and that this isn't indicative of his overall work ethic. I have heard nothing, other than this, that would lead me to believe that he is anything but a hard worker.

I'm willing to bet it has something to do with second semester attendence.

Thanks for the info OUguy11. I too wished you said he was "making up 3 classes" originally instead of "he is so far behind the 8 ball." the 8 ball thing gives us no info and just panic.

Whatever guys. Saying things like "I didn't lie" doesn't make putting rumors and partial info concerning bad things on this board any better. "Not lying" isn't the same thing as telling the full truth. Telling partial truths and mixing in opinion when no one else knows anything is what is going on here. I'm not saying anyone did anything malicious. What I am saying is OUguy11 you gave ambiguous bits of info without telling the full situation. By reading your ambiguous/gloomy posts we thought at least 1 or 2 prized recruits were not gonna make it here. You wrote like you had a close source and your judgement was they wouldn't make it; we had no idea so we only had your posts to rely on. Then you didn't post any updates on how the situation was progressing. Putting stuff like that on this message board (after last years crap) was surely going to lead to everyone going crazy. Then no one actually had the full info to let us know whether we are going to lose 2 good future players!

So my problem is the with person who started this by putting out the partial info. Did you have the full info or a source with full knowledge? If so you only gave us part of what you knew (then never updated us about how they were progressing). Seems more likely you only knew partial information on the situation but put it out there anyway knowing it might not end up panning out. You had to know it would kill us. I mean you can't just put out ominous news if you only have part of the story man. After the past month of shatty reporting from ESPN and every crappy so-called reporter, I'm done with this internet innuendo. Conference realignment and NBA free agent rumors made me sick of the culture of reporting rumors or partial information without knowing the full story, and reporting these "rumors" as if that is news. No, it's not. Everyone wants to know everything the second it happens, knowing that day isn't even fast enough. Vanity of vanities sayeth the preacher. This situation is just more of the same.

I only speak for myself here. I say if you can't research into the full truth and consequences of information you tell people, you're disseminating half truths. If all a person has is partial information to offer, then that person should keep it to themselves. It can't help because it's not final, but it can hurt. I lost a few hours this week worrying about this rumored situation which may not even be one if their grades get right. It makes me wonder if I've ever gained anything from a rumor. If all I gained was time, knowing something before it's reported worldwide, then I've surely lost more time on rumors than I ever gained. Ouguy11 you seem like a good dude from what I can gather on a message board, but if these guys end up at school you have to realize this hurts your credibility. Even if they don't end up here we won't know that until it is final for weeks or months, so all we get to do now is worry. That sucks. No one wins this game. Count me out.

Seriously?!? You lost a few hours worrying about this?

As for me, I dearly appreciate OUguy11's information. If you don't want to read it, then ignore him, but please allow the others of us to read by not running him off as a source, as well as others. He never said that they weren't going to make it. He said that there was a problem and in Cam's case it was a pretty serious one to remedy. That doesn't mean it can't be fixed and hopefully that is what Cam is doing. Sounds like it is.

We're never going to get all of the story, but at least we have some credible information about why they aren't on campus yet. Imagine the sort of rumors that would be flying if nobody knew why they weren't practicing yet!

I'm with you OUGuy, i don't get how having to make up 3 classes the summer after graduating is not cause for concern. If someone can enlighten me as to why I shouldn't be worried until he passes please fill me in.

I'm sorry guys, I now see that I was wrong. There shouldn't be any accountability for someone saying they have info that 2 our our incoming freshman might not make it here based on sources, or that our big time freshman is so far behind the 8 ball it's reasonable to think he won't make it here, even though he gave no details about what these two guys still had to do or were actively doing. I was wrong to expect that person to tell us what he knew these 2 still had to do to make it. I'm a noob for expecting that info of this magnitude would need to be accompanied by better updates, letting us know if these guys were doing their part to make it here. I'm new at this guys, and my post was way too long.

The worst part about my post this morning is I forgot the classic story of Albert Einstein: who as we all know spent so much time on internet message boards that he learned the full extent of human wisdom. By arguing about weekly power rankings and replying with facepalm emoticons eventually his post count won the internet, and out of respect Al Gore taught him the theory of relativity. I will now retreat to the women's board and reply to post's with "lol" and Eddie Sutton's head until my post count shows my brain has been turned to mush by dumb threads like everyone else.

Post count is the ground that weak minds stand on. For that matter, derivative cliches like "did not read" are the language of said minds. Adios friendos.

Hello everyone i hardly get a chance to get on hear and post but to the ones who are worried about clark, thank you for your concern but he will be a Sooner and he is going to summerschool to makeup 2low passing grades that his Dad suggest he do and Cam has excelled in the first class and he is also working this summer in his dad's resturaunt.Cam's dad said he continues to work hard on his craft everyday by going to the track and lifting weights in their inhome gym to become stronger and that is fact.
