What? Cam and Calvin grade issues?

Simple rule of thumb here: if the info doesn't come with a link to a reputable paper/site, don't believe it.

For instance: a couple of months ago I was told by several big shots that Capel had been asked to resign. These people are as connected to the program as you can get. Big, BIG donors. Their word had always been gold, but this time their source was false.

Lots of stuff on this site from those in the "know" has been proven false over the last 12 months. But that happens everywhere. Hell, a few weeks ago we were all heading west. Just let it play out and the truth, if there is any in the first place, will eventually come out.

At least your blood pressure will stay south of boil.

Whatever guys. Saying things like "I didn't lie" doesn't make putting rumors and partial info concerning bad things on this board any better. "Not lying" isn't the same thing as telling the full truth. Telling partial truths and mixing in opinion when no one else knows anything is what is going on here. I'm not saying anyone did anything malicious. What I am saying is OUguy11 you gave ambiguous bits of info without telling the full situation. By reading your ambiguous/gloomy posts we thought at least 1 or 2 prized recruits were not gonna make it here. You wrote like you had a close source and your judgement was they wouldn't make it; we had no idea so we only had your posts to rely on. Then you didn't post any updates on how the situation was progressing. Putting stuff like that on this message board (after last years crap) was surely going to lead to everyone going crazy. Then no one actually had the full info to let us know whether we are going to lose 2 good future players!

So my problem is the with person who started this by putting out the partial info. Did you have the full info or a source with full knowledge? If so you only gave us part of what you knew (then never updated us about how they were progressing). Seems more likely you only knew partial information on the situation but put it out there anyway knowing it might not end up panning out. You had to know it would kill us. I mean you can't just put out ominous news if you only have part of the story man. After the past month of shatty reporting from ESPN and every crappy so-called reporter, I'm done with this internet innuendo. Conference realignment and NBA free agent rumors made me sick of the culture of reporting rumors or partial information without knowing the full story, and reporting these "rumors" as if that is news. No, it's not. Everyone wants to know everything the second it happens, knowing that day isn't even fast enough. Vanity of vanities sayeth the preacher. This situation is just more of the same.

I only speak for myself here. I say if you can't research into the full truth and consequences of information you tell people, you're disseminating half truths. If all a person has is partial information to offer, then that person should keep it to themselves. It can't help because it's not final, but it can hurt. I lost a few hours this week worrying about this rumored situation which may not even be one if their grades get right. It makes me wonder if I've ever gained anything from a rumor. If all I gained was time, knowing something before it's reported worldwide, then I've surely lost more time on rumors than I ever gained. Ouguy11 you seem like a good dude from what I can gather on a message board, but if these guys end up at school you have to realize this hurts your credibility. Even if they don't end up here we won't know that until it is final for weeks or months, so all we get to do now is worry. That sucks. No one wins this game. Count me out.

Would you not agree that 3 classes in the matter of 2 months to be made up and achieve a certain grade, for a kid that didn't perform well in the class room over 4 years, is rather difficult??

I said it MAY not matter. I feel like that is a rather good way of putting it.
You seem to be the only one taking offense to this...

chico got game said:
Hello everyone i hardly get a chance to get on hear and post but to the ones who are worried about clark, thank you for your concern but he will be a Sooner and he is going to summerschool to makeup 2low passing grades

So which is it??? 2 or 3???

Also, these two posts contradict one another pretty substantially. One implies he needs to pass these classes to get here...the other says he's simply improving an already passing grade...

It is one class now he bought the grade up from a low c to a high B,and is currently doing well in the other class it was only 2 classes and again they were a low passing grades not failing grades.People rememember school dont start until august, and the coaches cant work with the players anyway until then so dont worry be happy.Cam,is working very hard his dad said on his schooling, workouts and halfway working in the family business, now let us as fan's focus on the positive things.

This is why I don't "appreciate" all the info I read on these boards. There appears to be some "half-truths" on much of it.

We are talking about a kid that WANTS to be a Sooner...

Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like all is well. When would you guess he will move to Norman? I assume summer school is finished the end of July. Hopefully, he will be there by mid-August to play to pick-up games with his new teammates..... and get to know them. We know chemistry is important to a team.

I don't see how this is a good thing. If he's already accepted to college, his scholarship can't be raised or lowered based on his grades. And actually, YoYo is working with the guys, so there is much to be gained by being in Norman right now. Also, pickup is being played with all the guys, just getting used to a team full of new people takes some time. And taking summer classes now eases the load throughout the semester. Thats why everyone else is on campus right now.

I have to call BS on this. There's definitely something going on behind the scenes that they aren't telling you about. He gains nothing by being at home for the summer. And theres no reason the sources I talked to would have the ideas that they have and the information they were told if nothing was going on.

Thank you Klegg for being reasonable.

If you want to complain about everything i think most on here would be fine with you leaving. Contribute something or don't complain. You don't have to read everything we/I post.

thanks to both ouguy11 and chico for sharing their info. i prefer to have all the information available.

i can sort through what seems most reasonable to believe myself.

Pretty much agree with this 100%, in this day and age, getting to campus ASAP is the norm. Summer workouts/pick up games are organized by the S&C, but let's be honest he is an extension of the staff. You're crazy if you don't think the HC does not have influence on what is going on. As was stated above, Cam gains nothing by staying home this summer, unless there is some qualification problem.

Maybe I missed it, but can we confirm, is this a graduation or clearinghouse issue? Hope it's neither and he just really, really loves Sherman enough to stay all summer.

...and I NORMALLY agree with this, but since the original bit of information was posted a few days before any other info was added, it appeared Cam was in SERIOUS jeopardy of making it to OU.

Think about it this way...would you want people INCORRECTLY discussing YOUR (or your kid's) grade situation on a public forum???

I'm not sure which post is MOSTLY correct, but I DO know I wouldn't want my son or daughter's grade situation discussed on this board UNLESS the ENTIRE truth was posted.

Maybe it was, it just seems a little fishy now.

BTW, OUguy11, I DO enjoy your insight, I just think this information would have been better off kept to yourself. But that's just MY opinion.

personally, I wouldn't care what a bunch of message boarders were saying and I would hope I would teach my kids the same thing.
