The thing that gets me the most about what cousins said was that the ISU crowd was changing Bull**** on several occasions about the ref calls. I am not condoning what cousins said, but if fans are yelling that at the refs and/or players on the court, then how is a player on the court saying it that much worse.

I don't cuss much, but I do notice when I am around people who cuss as part of their regular vocab, I tend to let one slip. I could see this happen on a basketball court.

And I don't buy that Cousins said it at the ISU bench. He was not even looking at the ISU bench when it was said. I am not saying it wasn't meant for them, but that makes the official determine intent of a player versus actually action. And that would make it like Kansas Home games for everyone.

c'mon :facepalm You really don't see the difference in active participants in the game being played and spectators?

it was pretty clear to me that he was looking at the bench when he yelled.

He yelled "get that sheit out of here" after Spangler blocked Niang's shot. What makes people think he was telling the bench that?

I may be thinking more pro then in college, but I know the pros the cussing on court rule (yes it happens and yes there is a rule against it) is so that the language does not get on TV. FCC Regulations. With fans in college chanting it, you could hear it clearly on TV.

Its hard to argue that there is not a difference from the participants to the fans. But my 7 year old was watching a reply of the game and did not hear Cousins, but definitely heard the crowd. That makes a difference to me.

Also heard the crowd saying the same in the Georgia Kentucky game, so I am not saying that its just ISU, its just unfortunate.

Not saying Cousins did not say it at a player on the court, I just don't know that he was targeting the bench as people have been saying.

Also when Niang (sp) yelled and flexed right in front of the OU bench during the game. Does that mean he was targeting the OU bench with what he said and did? And no I am not saying he deserved anything. My point is that just cause you say something near the bench does not mean you are targeting the them with you comment.

Maybe somebody can find a clip but I rewatched it after the play and he turned his head in the direction of the bench and screamed.

He was saying it to everyone and no one. It was just what people say and it was a weak call. Cussing happens all game long. Watch bill self yell F$&k all game long. Are you telling me the officials don't hear it?

1. We don't know what words he chose
2. You will see technicals called for simply taunting without cursing. It appeared to me that Cousins not only taunted but did so utiilizing curse words

I don't like the language he used, but I am not sure I would classify that as taunting either. But I am not the one making the ruling on the court. I just see so many times a player make a big dunk and stare down and talk trash to the other team and nothing gets called. I would consider that more taunting then what Cousins did. And yes OU players do that too.

Face value, I thought the technical was weak. With that said, had something else happened or been said before that dead ball? No way to know for certain.

If you do watch the play or two before where OU hits a jumper, Cousins is woofing after the made basket. Don't think he is doing it to anyone in particular, but it is plainly visible on TV. Not saying that deserves a technical either, but anytime you start drawing attention to yourself from a negative angle, there is a chance it won't be favorable.

If he is Cousins, I know exactly what he said. You could hear it on TV. Big Time commented on it during the game thread before the T and I replied.

I heard it loud and clear on my T.V. , but I thought it was Spangler yelling it at first since he was the one that blocked the shot.

The T call certainly changed the momentum of the game but we are clearly missing someone who will make plays to get us out of the kind of funk that has cost us several games this year.

I really disagree with this. I think OU panicked and didn't run its offense or its defense very well for five minutes. I don't believe you need a guy to do heroic things during a run. I think you need good shot attempts and OU just didn't get any during that run. Once they started playing decently again, it was a pretty even game and certainly even enough that the 20 point lead would have held up.

This.

Cousins had been woofing and inciting the crowd a little and let's face it between his antics Monday night, not shaking Bill Self's hand after the KU game and trying to trip a TCU player after he (Cousins) shot a FT, he's bush league and Lon needs to have a talk with him. He either needs to grow up and stop acting a thug or maybe he needs some bench time.

This is the first I have heard of not shaking Self's hand and trying to trip a player.

Tripping players happens all the time. Heild was tripped several times against ISU when OU would get a defensive rebound they would but a body on Heild and try to cross legs to slow down the potential fast break. WVU did the same thing against Kansas.
