I must say I'm somewhat surprised I haven't seen any. :)

i'm his biggest fan on here, but i live in a rational world.

We basically had that style of ball for about a dozen years with Kelvin Sampson and there were a lot of fans that hated him.

as good as he is, i think it would be wise for him to go the thad motta route and take a a-10 type job first before moving on to a big conference. i would love for him to stay and build that program even bigger. but i don't want him to plateau like mark few and gonzaga.

I don't think Mark Few considers it a "plateau". He likes where he is and how he is treated.

and that's fine. coach wherever you are happy. if stevens is happy where he is, stay. i don't mean to chastise any coach for not taking a better paying gig. i just thought few's teams would keep progressing, including a trip to the final four. i don't follow recruiting so i don't know what their future looks like. but maybe he has taken gonzaga as far as they can go. just my thought.

Butler only has one senior who plays much. So they could be even better next year.

did I hear the annoucer right, that Stevens used to be a marketing guy for Eli Lilly?

I doubt they'll be better because teams tend to struggle more when the bullseye is on their jerseys. Gonzaga was a giant-killer when they were a double-digit seed. As soon as they became a top-notch program, they became very average in the month of March. I'm not saying Butler will not continue to be a very good hoops program, but I really think this is their "one shining moment" in the Final Four.

Butler has been a higher seed for the last couple of years now. And they've done really well going to something like 3 or 4 Sweet 16s.

We beat them in the Sweet Sixteen in 2003. They were a 12 seed. They have also been a 5, 7 and 9 in recent years.

i will say that Butler knows how to play some mean defense

Well look at the teams that are left. All of them can really defend well. Butler may be the best defensive team but WVU basically shut down one of the top teams in the country in Kentucky. Duke and Baylor both have great defense. Michigan State and Tennessee are both good defensive teams.

He played D-III ball, then took a job at Eli Lilly for a year or so. Decided it wasn't for him and got a volunteer assistant job at Butler, worked his way up the ladder from there.
