For the dance?

Let's make it interesting and say you can't pick Romero Osby or Amath M'Baye

Choices:

Sam Grooms
Steve Pledger
Andrew Fitzgerald
Casey Arent
Je'lon Hornbeak's 3 point % from last year

I'd probably go with Fitzgerald.

You?

Fitz would be my choice as a back up only, mainly because he would improve our post depth and give us another big who could score.

None of the other players on your list would be good enough to start on this year's team.

Probably Pledger... another guy who can knock down 3's

Fitz for post depth only. None of the choices would improve this years team.

I agree with Ada and would pick Fitz.

I can eliminate the other 4. I like our PGs this year, and Grooms can't bring anything that Woodard doesn't have. I prefer Hornbeak this year to last year's edition. There are times I like him over Woodard and it seems he gets better every week. Arent isn't even a consideration. Pledger is an outiside shooter and we have already have that covered.

Of course, I would love to have Ro. He is easily the top choice. If he was 2" taller he would be in the NBA right now. We could use his power in the low post. M'Baye was who we all expected to have for this year and we could have really used his length and athleticism.

Fitz is the next best choice. He would give us another big guy and has a good offensive game in the 10-15 foot range.

Can we have Jeff Webster or Stacy king?

You may be surprised to learn that Pledger's average from three last year would be no better than sixth on this year's team.

I am still amazed that we have so many good perimeter shooters. If that trend continues in the weeks ahead, OU could make some noise in the NCAA tourney.

His percentage would be a bit higher this year because teams couldn't focus on him.

What sucks about this thread is our coaching staff thought they would have M'Baye.

Good point about Pledger. I agree with you.

Fitz. Need another big. He would probably take a all of Bennet's minutes.

I'd take Pledger.

Fitz would offer depth in the post, but how badly would he slow our play up when he's on the court? No way he would be able to keep up with the offensive tempo we've been running this year.
