Correct me if I'm wrong, you fossils, but didn't Anthony Bowie have the first triple-double in Sooner hoops history?
I honestly can't remember. Teams back in the 60's and 70's didn't score like they do today..... no shot clock. Also, they didn't play nearly as many games. I was a student back in the 60's ..... graduated in '69. I watched many games in the old fieldhouse.
I'm surprised Alvan Adams didn't do it because he was such a good passing big man from the high post. I know he and Garfield Heard are tied with the most double-doubles in a season at 21 ..... in just 27 games. Adams was a man among boys on the court.
Bowie very well could be the first Sooner with a triple-double. I can't dispute it. The rebounds would be the hardest for him with big men like Harvey Grant and Stacey King in the post but Billy-ball pounded teams into oblivion, so he had plenty of opportunities.
