Ihe locked in at Butler? Coach-in-waiting for another school? Trillion dollar buyout? What???

I actually think his contract is up after this year. Maybe we should contact him, hadn't thought about it. hmmm.

He's basically been there since he was a teenager. Which is like 3 years but still...

He's basically Mark Few, he might leave there for Indiana, that's about it.

6 million dollar buyout says enough... But if I had an extra 20 mill laying around, I would love to throw 3 mill a year at him for 10 yrs... Let OU pay for half and I would pay the other!

We need the rich guys on the board like Sid to start putting their money where their mouth is.

So you are jd57 on soonerscoop huh? Exact same ? on that board.

Last week he was the big name on here, but then everyone realized he has a long term deal with Butler. Thus, the no go. Then we discussed why he wouldn't leave bc its butler not OK. Then everyone decided he was there for the right reasons and job security. Then we talked about how he was only going to leave unless it was IU or Duke. Then we stopped talking about him...until now :)

I'm quitting my job to be a college basketball coach, just like Brad Stevens. Let's cut out all the volunteer and assistant coaching stuff and give me the reigns right now. Save everyone a lot of time.

j2d2, everyone assumes you're on here 24-7 waiting on a bit of news like the rest of us. lol

Stevens name has been batted around a lot lately. He has already made it clear that he is happy at Butler and is not interested in going anywhere. I realize that can change, but I'm betting Joe C. as well as any number of ADs have made contact with him in the past few weeks. Stevens also signed an extension to his contract last year that takes him through 2021. That's a lot of security for any coach and it likely comes with a sizeable buyout. The main thing, though, is that he has no plans to leave his current job. And who can blame him? He's the toast of the town in Indianapolis.

Can somebody please tell me again who is the Butler coach?

I was thinking Gene Hackman was hired at Butler after he led Milan over Muncie Central in Butler's fieldhouse. Gene has to be getting old, are we sure we want him?

:ez-laugh:

Everyone says this but I have not actually seen Stevens say anything like this, this year. He clearly said no to people last year.
