Many years ago Tulsa U. turned its program around by hiring an unknown Juco coach who brought his entire National Championship team with him. His name was Nolan Richardson.
If we are going to be relegated to hiring a coaching prospect that has never recruited on a D-1 level, even as an assistant, then why not just get a juco coach and condition his employment on bringing in a few players.
I don't follow the jucos much, does anyone know of a reputable juco coach with some unsigned players we would want. And if so, what do you guys think of that route. Another benefit is that we could probably get a juco coach for less than half a mil a year, and then bump him up if he gets the program going.
