It has really just dawned on me how big the road win was at Texas. At the time, I thought it was a good win just because we needed W's during our first 5 game stretch. But now I see how impressive it was because Texas is a pretty good team.

I don't think many people would have predicted that Texas would end up being 5-2 through their first 7 games. But they are, and their RPI has climbed and climbed. And to think we came back from down 7 late in that game!

I know that I am not making ground-breaking news here, but just wanted to highlight this win because it got us off to a good start in conference, and in hindsight, the win looks better and better by the moment.

Score early, score loud, score late, wear crimson :)

Not to take anything away from OU's win in Austin, because it was definitely a great win. But UT is better now than four weeks ago when we beat them by three on their home floor. They're very capable of turning the tables on us March 1st if we don't play well. The good news is that OU has improved, too. Our defense is better, and our players off of the bench are so much better now than four weeks ago.

As an aside, OU has already won three of the four road games against Texas teams in the Big 12. We need to make it a clean sweep with a win against TCU in Ft. Worth to end the regular season.

UT's back-half of the schedule is brutal...I expect them to come back to earth a little bit.

They still have KU twice, @KSU, @ISU, @OU.

This is probably true but didn't UT also lose a key player to freak injury in his apartment. I can't remember what it was but it was something serious like a torn tendon or ligament if I recall correctly.

On another subject, I'm very happy with our Big 12 scheduling arrangement that requires home and homes for everyone every season. Yes, XXX kicked our arse at their place, but WE get them at home!

To be frank, Texas would be fortunate to win one out of those road games. Even K-State plays very well at home. All things being equal, I see Texas finishing in the 11-7/ 12-6 range.

I think Texas finishes 9-9.

Can't see Texas finishing above 11-7, while 10-8 feels about right.

I'm sort of waiting for Texas to come out and a play a dog game where they don't look focused. They've been really focused and intense the last several weeks. However, they are young and I would think that they have the propensity to lose to someone that they shouldn't. But looking at their schedule, I don't know who that would be....Baylor at home (nope)...WV at home (nope)...at Tech (maybe?). That is why I have them finishing at worst 11-7. But I've been wrong before.

I agree with 10-8. I think Texas will lose to OSU, KU twice, ISU, OU, KSU that is 8 losses and assumes they take care of business in their other games.

I agree Denver, but I have them beating osu at home. I thing Texas' bigs will be a handful for them.

For some reason I'm thinking Texas will upset KU, just to really show the world how nuts the big 12 is this year
