The Sooner women were named ESPN's national team of the week and they've climbed to #12 in the AP poll, their highest ranking since 2016.

Pretty obvious teams with a strong inside game are their kryptonite. Rebounds were 45-23.

They were up by 1 point at the half, but the third quarter was apparently a disaster (I was watching softball). They won the first and fourth quarters, tied in the second, but got routed by 21 in the third.

Part of it was caused by more defensive intensity on the part of Texas in the second half. If you remember, Shaefer was in charge of the defense at Texas A&M when Gary Blair said their defensive philosophy was to foul early and often and hope the officials got tired of blowing their whistles.

At one point the officials awarded 3 free throws to Texas. Jennie protested. I had the sound muted, but I thought I could see her say, "She was out of bounds." The official gave her a technical. I think we had a turnover after that. It was a bad sequence.

Yeah, having swept Baylor, they'll definitely have the Bears' attention.

Take on ND Monday.

Course espn threw up a graphic saying b12 is 12/0 both men’s and women’s… 1st conf to do that ever.

Only prob is we aren’t 12/0…lol. 11/1 thanks to Baylor

AND…. the usual really stupid passes… 2 of them already.

ND had a run of something like 25-2. They could not miss. Their freshman PG hit five threes in the first quarter (and she wasn't the only ND player hitting threes). And OU has done almost nothing right.

In short, an absolute nightmare. I'm reminded of OU-Nova in the Final Four. This Sooner squad has mounted lots of impressive comebacks, but based on what we've seen so far, I can't really imagine how it could happen in this game. I hope I'm wrong.

They lost to Georgia, UConn before UConn's best player was hurt, Duke, Boston College, Louisville twice, and Miami in the ACC tournament.

But, great season turnaround. Hopefully the 4 new girls coming in will help. I should have gone seen the st Thomas kid from here in KC.

Kind of like the guys we need some athleticism on the team. Think only 1 girl not coming back.. thought only one did Sr night.
