There aren't usually many upsets in the first round of the women's tournament but there have been some today.

Florida Gulf Coast (12 seed) upset Virginia Tech (5 seed) 84 - 81. I guess the 12/5 upset is universal.

Creighton (10 seed) upset Colorado (7 seed) 84 - 74

South Dakota (10) seed upset Ole Miss (7 seed) 75 -61

FGCU was actually raked higher in the final coaches poll than Va. Tech. They were #20 and Va, Tech #23. Some seedings are hard to understand.

And now Creighton, a 10th seed is into the sweet 16 with a win over 2 seed Iowa.

#2 seed Iowa's loss definitely gives #3 seed ISU a better chance to advance further in the tournament.

Another one bites the dust... Baylor

South Dakota played great defense against them, even though their offense was not great. Having seen the games I saw this year pre-tournament, I am not surprised at the upsets. Hope OU does not become one but they need to play outstanding tomorrow.

Not surprised that SD ran out to an 11-0 lead as much as that they outscored Baylor the rest of the game.

Thousands of Baylor fans crying “this would never have happened under Kim!”

It seems like a long time ago, but South Dakota was our first win of the season @ South Dakota.

If OU plays they way they played Texas and Baylor. They should come out with a win. If they play ho hum like the last time they played Baylor. OU gets beat by 10. They can make a big statement to 2023 recruits with a huge win and a birth to the sweet 16.

Nicki Collen is Kim Mulkey's clone. So there's that.
