there were quite a few people who forewarned where this could lead. posters here and even other coaches.

I wasn't one of them though. I bought into it all hook, line, and stinker (I spelled it that way on purpose). My bad. I was foolish.

The idea that this is Trae's fault is laughable. He does need to play better defense though. He's not producing enough on offense anymore to justify the complete lack of defense.

In the college game you can never produce enough to justify the complete lack of defense. The other guys see it. If Trae doesn't have to play defense they aren't going to either. I just wish these guys would show some damn pride in themselves instead of continuing to put forth lack luster efforts.

The idea of Trae (next year) trying to defend Westbrook or Kyrie Irving is absolutely absurd at the moment.

The idea of any NBA PG guarding those two is fairly absurd.

Just b/c Doug wasnt a great player, doesn't mean he doesn't know basketball.

Gottleib knows basketball. Some fans are a little too thin-skinned that he criticizes (fairly) our inept play as of late.....just because he played at a rival school. It certainly doesn't seem like our coaches are effectively critiquing our play as of late because we see the same mistakes over and over again.

I'd really like to see Lon pull Trae next time he turns it over or takes a bad shot and doesn't bust his ass back to the other end to play defense.

I Love Trae and glad he’s here. Sure he AND THE WHOLE team should play better D. But without TY we would be 10-17 and headed no where. At least we are in the discussion. Last year was MISERABLE!!!!!

This year is more miserable.

Last year, we went 1-9 over roughly the same stretch.

The difference was, we hadn't gotten our hopes up very high at any point, unlike this season.

Let's be honest....most NBA stars don't play defense either. Let's take a look at our 2018 NBA All-Star Guards: WB, Lillard, Kyrie, Kemba Walker, Dragic, Wall, Curry, Harden, DeRozan, Lowery. None of them play a lick of defense 99% of the time.
