#1 Recruit to UT Vols

Mercedes Russell, the number 1 overall recruit for the class of 2013, has committed to the Lady Vols. I'm quite shocked, as I cannot stand Holly Warlick. However, I am a fan of Tennessee, and hopefully this will help keep the tradition alive.

Didn't Tennessee have another recruit de-commit recently? I wonder if the commitment of this player is related.

You may be referring to the #2 prospect, Kaela Davis, and her de-commit from a verbal to Tennessee, but technically she's still considering Tennessee. Perhaps she was just waiting to see who would be playing with her. With the changes in the coaching staff, I cannot say that I blame her.

Jannah Tucker de-committed then committed again to Tennessee, this all happened in about one week.
