I dont think he cuts into Manek's time at all. Or really Freeman's for that matter.

1 - Trae, Shepherd
2 - James, McGusty
3 - Odomes, Doolittle
4 - Manek, Freeman
5 - Lattin, McNeace

No, I don't see a 10-man rotation come conference play. I think Doolittle will eat pretty much all of Freeman's minutes...plus take a few of Odomes' and Lattin's depending on whether Lon goes a little big or small.

9 players are plenty. The only time OU was ever a legit 10 deep was the '89-'90 team...a team that was one of the best in school history, but didn't have a superstar.

I agree it'll be Freeman mostly. Please don't take any of Manek's. He has the potential to be a scoring machine. I will say Freeman looks much improved this year though. If he could add a couple more LBs and rebound he could force his way in there...

Kam seems to be kind of coming on. I'd like to see more of him in Odomes' spot. Love Rashard's defense though...

I agree with WaymanFan based on what we saw from Doolittle last year. I don’t know how quickly he will return to late season form from last year though. It might be a slow process for a while where he gets only a few minutes initially and then eventually solidified his role.

The depth and experience are nice to have and there will be games where we need it but I hope we don’t try to use it all as part of a regular rotation.

I have been wondering if Doolittle can play the three.......

If he can, I agree with you. Odomes should be worried about his playing time; he plays good D but his offensive game has not improved one iota since last year. Of course, he doesn't have to be a force on the offensive end; but he does need to have enough game that other defenses can't sag completely off of him when he's on the floor.

Manek and Freeman have been solid and I would hate to see either one lose minutes. Freeman makes good decisions and is good at the free throw line. I see him being used a lot like yesterday...especially late in games that are tight.

Odomes was playing really good Defense against WSU. Teams need a stopper and I think Odomes is as close as it gets for OU.

Lazenby is finished. Freemans minutes will be really sparse. Odomes will lose minutes too

I think doolittle might take some lattin/mcneace minutes maybe and we go small sometimes. Who knows

It will work its way up to something like this:

Trae - 32
CJ - 28
Manek - 25
Lattin/McNeace - 35
Odomes - 15

65 minutes

Shepard - 18
Doolittle -25
McGusty - 22
Freeman - 5

Lazenby - 0
Polla - 0

Was thinking he'd get Freeman's minutes for sure but they had him in the game the last couple minutes. He got a tough defensive rebound, drew a foul and nailed his free throws.

So I dunno. Probably still will get his minutes, but that impressed me. It's a good problem to have.

I am higher on Freeman than others as well. He's filling out and his activity level has increased every game. He's actually starting to mix it up a bit. With his shooting stroke and length he and Brady make excellent stretch 4 bookends. To me at least his role is to give Brady a breather or two.

Odomes is a legit perimeter stopper. He needs his 20 minutes.

He was in there for ball handling vs press and free throws

I think he’s horrible defensively

Freeman was in late yesterday at the 5 for ball handling, passing, and FT shooting. It was a good move by Kruger. Otherwise, Freeman was pretty awful yesterday. With Doolittle returning, he'll take most of Freeman's minutes and probably some from Odomes. Freeman will still get a chance to come in and shoot 3's but if they don't fall, what else does he do better than anyone else we have? Nothing.

The difference to me is Odomes is checking a lot of PG’s or a lot of the top guards allowing Trae to hide some on defense. I don’t think Doolittle can check PG’s

Doolittle is a stud. I'm a huge "buyer" of his game. I thought he had the most upside of any player on last year's roster. They say a player improves the most between their freshman and sophomore years, and I honestly think he has pro potential.

He brings a physical presence that nobody else on the roster can provide (except Polla). We also need his rebounding. He averaged almost 10 ppg and 7 boards in B12 games last season, while starting 25 games. He also shot 39.5% from 3-point range (better % than both Trae and Manek so far this season). He's both quick and tough. I'm betting he averages 25-30 minutes per game in B12 play.

I would put Trae, Manek, and Doolittle as our 3 best players.... and have the most upside. Doolittle is going to get his minutes from Freeman and Odomes.... and maybe some from Manek. JMHO

I agree which is why it really is amazing we went 8-1 in the OOC without him. Hope he’s in game shape and ready to play, cause we need his game but I don’t know if Lon is going to give him that many minutes out of the gate.

I tend to agree Doolittle one of our best 3-4. The beauty is that it will go game by game.

We can go Trae, CJ, Kam, Manek and Doolittle for an offensive lineup.
We can go Trae, CJ, Odomes, Doolittle and Lattin/Jamuni for a defensive lineup.
And everything in between.

I notice that Lonny always has 3 scoring options on the floor minimum. That probably won’t change.

Nice problems to have! I even see Freeman contributing. But less so. Gonna be fun to watch...!

If we have Doolittle and manek on the court together with a center, who would you play at the three and who at the four?

That’s interesting... I was thinking the same thing. It’s hard to imagine Doolittle at the 3... Manek at the 3, I think that makes more sense in my mind. However, I just tend to think we may not fully know how many minutes are stolen till mid January because Kristian may have to really earn those min back.

I would have Manek guard their 3 and Doolittle their 4 man.
