#19 OU vs Kansas 2pm 3/5

Madi and Kelbie had 12 TOs today but they are averaging almost 8 (Madi 4.0 and Kelbie 3.7) per game. Kelbie has only 4 more assists than TOs (104 vs 100) for a point guard. Terrible!!!

Baylor has two guards one with 87 more (154-67) assist than TOs and the other 75 more (132-57). For the season Baylor has only 57 fewer assist but also has 190 fewer TOs. OU assist-TO= -1 for the season. Baylor +133.

Yeah, I guess that's the reason we were swept by Baylor this season.

Oh, wait…

A little difficult to gauge when the current players are all recruits from the past coaching staff. I really, really hope Jenny knows how amazing she has been this year to take players she didn’t recruit and fit them into her system. She has absolutely nothing to prove in my eyes. We haven’t been in the NCAA discussion for some time.

I have so much faith in this current coaching staff.

It is so nice to see some enthusiasm for the program, attendance has improved, I thought it got drug into the gutter because it felt like OU was so unwilling to make a coaching change. I would say it has tripled in this year alone.

This.

The KU coach should have been Big 12 COY. They were pic ked last in the conference in the preseason poll. They were 3-15 in conference last year. Thney won 14 conference games the past 6 years. It sholuld be a no brainer. They have been the bottom feeders in the conference for years. They finished 11-7. OU finished 12-6.

Not really. For the season Kansas improved the overall record a +13 games (7-18 to 20-8) and a +8 games (3-15 to 11-7) in the Big 12. OU improved 11 games overall (12-12 to 23-7) but only 3 games (9-9 to 12-6) in conference.

In 2021 the hawks were in last place for both the conference and overall season. They finished #5 and #5 in 2020 a jump of 5 places. OU finished 6th & 6th in 2021. In 2022 the finished 4th & 4th a jump of 2 places.

Did anyone else find it odd that the KU coach is named Coach of the Year in the Big XII Conference while nationally, Jennie is one of the semi-finalists for the National Coach of the Year?

I did, not because JB is on that list (she definitely deserves to be, imo), but rather because Schneider isn’t on it. He deserves it every bit as much in my books.

OU's advantage is they are ranked 21st and 19th in the AP and Coaches poll while Kansas is unranked with very few votes.

I would agree with that.

I would have left off Mulkey, Staley and VanDerveer. I think it's much more difficult to do what Jennie & the KU coach have done than what these 3 coaches have done. I wouldn't reward Mulkey for taking a large part of the Baylor team with her. I think Staley & VanDerveer are great coaches but they haven't shown the improvement year over year that OU and KU have.

You are probably correct in your thinking but the media is not in the business of necessarily making the best choice. They will see the names Mulkey, Staley and VanDerveer and the will get all of them far more votes than they deserve IMHO with one likely winning.

Yes, they have historically made the 'easy' choice.
