2 FTA in 2nd half

yeah there were a couple of horrible calls or non-calls....and I complained on the game thread...

but we got a few..well, I thought we got away with some....

Bottom line, that didn't play into our off the last 7 min. I'm about 99.999% certain that our guys DIDN'T say..."we are not getting calls when we drive, so let's just jack up 3 pters while the rest of us stand around"...

just saying....officials are horribly inconsistent this year...more than usual.

The offense just turned into a 3 pointing shooting game of horse..

Texas scored 34 points in the paint to OU's 16, and that's a decent indicator that they were a lot more aggressive and would warrant more free throws. Now they had an 18-2 advantage at the line in the 2nd half which is a huge difference after only taking 2 more in the 1st half. There were a couple of times I was surprised OU didn't get a call (one was where Buddy was tripped splitting a double team).

I was more frustrated by OU getting killed on the boards than I was about the FT discrepancy. I think OU's poor execution hurt them more than the referees.

Ironically, where I felt the game slip away is somehow OU got a loose ball or rebound late in the game, and passed it to Buddy for a wide open 3 at the top of the key and he missed it. Texas scored cutting the deficit to 1 or 2 when it could have been 7.

JMHO

I remember that, we would have gone up 7 if he made it. They came down and I believe hit a 3 on the end to cut it to 1.

edit:
Here is the sequence and plays afterwards where we lost the lead for good.

4:28 Isaiah Taylor made Free Throw. 58 - 59
4:28 Isaiah Taylor made Free Throw. 58 - 58
4:28 Foul on Jordan Woodard. 58 - 57
4:33 Buddy Hield Turnover. 58 - 57
4:59 Connor Lammert made Three Point Jumper. Assisted by Isaiah Taylor. 58 - 57
5:14 Connor Lammert Defensive Rebound. 58 - 54
5:14 Buddy Hield missed Three Point Jumper. 58 - 54

oh well it happens, hopefully we've learned enough after only scoring 3 points from the 7:30 mark to the end of the game to not get stagnant on offense...
