Another important thing I took away from this game: Texas sucks

Very true. We just kept scratching and clawing. texas likely won't play a better game this year. They hit from 3, they hit from mid-range and they scored in the paint. They blocked the most shots in ut history.

But we kept hanging around, kept coming back and we came out on top.

A huge win for our guys.

only 5 turnovers tonight as well. I know we shot poorly but at least we were getting shots and not just throwing the ball away.

You know, its always been said to take it right at a big time shot blocker. Well, I kept thinking we'll learn not to take it inside tonight but we kept on keeping on. Finally hitting two late in the game in the paint. But, after thinking about it, I think Texas had pulled Ridley out and SPangler and Thomas were out on the high post and wing. Maybe a good coaching move?:dance005:

Great game by our guys to hang tough and finally pull one out when we didn't play that great. Texas has size which we always have problems with - hopefully this bodes well for the growth of our team.

I've watched about a dozen or so games of Texas this season. Next to the Kentucky game in December, this is the best that I've seen them look all year. They dominated the paint in many ways (blocked shots, rebounds, points, etc.). With the way that they were hitting from outside (they're not a good outside shooting team), I feel like we took their best punch....and still found a way to win. This is a huge win and a win that this team needed to get from a mental standpoint. We didn't play all that well for most of the game, but they dug down deep and found a way to pull it out. This will help us in March.:dance005:

I also thought the student section was excellent again. I was just above them, and it was a pleasure to watch those kids get after the Bevoids.

It made up quite a bit for the no-shows, who I can't believe didn't make it out to this one. I even saw some Bevoid fans in the donor seats. I'm sure those will be occupied by some obnoxious, sweater-vest wearing Birdbrains on March 7.

Very encouraging that we won a close game. Also, Woodard played a great game and hit some big jumpshots.

It was great seeing them comeback from their largest deficit of the game in the final 3 minutes and not pack it up. There were times where the team looked gassed and had little hustle, but the last few minutes were the opposite.

6 wasn't the biggest deficit ..

My bad. Were we down 7 just prior to that?

We were very briefly down by seven with about six and a half minutes to go, and we were down by 6 when we began our final comeback with about three and a half minutes left (we trailed by six several times in the second half, but that was the latest in game we trailed by that much).

Converting points off turnovers were huge, allowed us to score without their bigs getting set up. Forcing live turnovers helped us get transition buckets or forced fouls which got us in the bonus early was the difference in the game since we struggled in the half court.
