2015 PF Mason Riggins

We arent even recruiting an PG till the 2016 class.
Roman young and Lamonte Turner

That's my point they aren't going to recruit a true pg to sit on the bench. Now maybe a combo. But we don't even need that until maybe next season since hornbeak still has two.
My point was some people questioned Woodards play at times this year, and that floors me. Hes a true freshman running the show for a top 25 team, we are set for the next three seasons.
Hornbeaks minutes at times this season had more to do with Woodard being a true freshman, and not what the future holds. Woodard will be a star, improve defensively and be a complete stud by next season. Horn beak might still be the first guard off the bench , but it may not be at PG very often.
Im not worried about Pg/depth whatsoever.

Hornbeak can be a successful PG with more run, though our offense will never be as good with him on the floor as with Woodard. I like the idea of filling out depth at 3-5, recruiting SGs in 2015, and getting a top notch PG in 2016 to learn from Woodard for a year.

I was agreeing with you! Shake and Trier in the next class though...

That would be a very solid get. A true 3 man with the size to back it up, and fits the very athletic mold that Kruger loves.

noticed in the recent article he is averaging over 10 rebounds a game. Sure at 6'6 in HS you should rebound well, but at that consistency you definitely create a name for yourself being a rebounding guard

At this point neither are looking really good. Hope the staff is going HARD after Grandstaff. I think he is the more likely of the 3 to end up in Norman at this point.

I'm hearing the same thing.... Grandstaff will be really tough to get as well.

But... You know our man LK, he'll come through!

I think OU uses the location factor for Shake. OU is not at the top of his list but his Mother wants him close to home and i know his little sister and brother are very important to him. OU is going to use that in their favor. What people don't always realize about basketball is that you don't get to come home to visit like other sports do.

Big time schools are playing during thanksgiving, christmas, and spring break.
If you are local you can go home for short times every now and then and the family is close.

Hope that wins out and Shake chooses OU. I have heard he is really playing well this year without a lot of help in Owasso. I wonder what his wing span is right now, looks to be around 7'0 on a 6'5 guard.

Brett, the one game I saw Shake play he was crazy good from extremely long range. That could have been just a one game thing. If you have seen him play a few times, how would you describe him as a long range shooter.

He is very accurate and smooth in a lot of things he does. He has a great wingspan also for his size. He has a game that really reminds me of Durant. Nothing really quick twitch, just really smooth and very long body type.

I guess you all heard that we may be losing a guard, with heavy speculation that it's 'beak. So, it looks like we will need that other point guard. I thought we needed one regardless of 'Beak. So now how does this change our recruiting plans, if at all?

Sometimes things calm down... Emotions are high once the season ends...

So 'Beak is gone. Like I said, we need another point guard. Now we're in trouble because it's probably too late to get one. Our only hope is maybe we can get the guy that decommitted with TU when Manning left. Otherwise we have a very big hole to fill! I told you we needed another PG!

we are very much in the picture with Trier ..

In the picture, but OU doesn't typically land recruits like him. Yes, he has ties to Oklahoma, but he isn't living/playing here right now, correct? He is also going to get offers from a lot of the big boys, if he hasn't already.

My comment certainly wasn't mean as we don't have a shot with him, but I'm certainly not going to sit around and act like it's a good shot. Gotta think our chances with Shake are better than our chances with Trier.

And for the record, I don't feel great about Grandstaff at this point either. I think if he was going to commit to OU, he'd have done it shortly after visiting. Again, not saying there is no chance, just saying I'm not liking our chances at this point.

Bummer. I was really hoping to land a couple of these really good guards. Still might end up with one though.

I bet we get one of Grandstaff/Trier. No inside information, just have a good feeling about this.

I feel the opposite, but would be ecstatic if we did. Both of those kids are going to be very good 4 year college guys.
