2017 PG J.J. Chandler offered.

Nice find, Jackson!

Interesting that OU is going after a PG in the 2017 class with Pritchard coming in next year. Then again, Kruger likes versatile players like Chandler who can play more than one position. Looks like a good prospect to be sure.

He's a combo guard, depending on the site has his listed as a pg & a SG. Definitely need a combo guard to go along with Pritchard, ie temple Gibbs. Hard to sell a true pg to come back up Pritchard 8 mins a game for 3 years.

I wonder if they're thinking of saving some from '16 to '17.

This will be interesting to watch. OU certainly has flexibility in the recruiting numbers. Even with Pritchard and Doolittle on board in the 2016 class, there will be room for 3 more recruits in 2016, plus 3 recruits in 2017. I list the "projected" 2016-17 roster below to illustrate this.

As of today, we know of 10 scholarship players on the 2016-17 roster. You are allowed 13 scholarship players.

OU MEN’S BASKETBALL // Projected 2016-17 Roster
10 scholarship players (Allowed 13)
As of June, 2015

Seniors (3 Scholarship Players)
> Jordan Woodard ... 6-0, 189, G ... Arcadia, OK (Edmond Memorial HS)
> Akolda Manyang … 7-0, C … Indian Hills CC
> C.J. Cole ... 6-7, 235, F ... Sperry, OK

Junior (1)
> Khadeem Lattin … 6-9, 201, F … Houston, Texas / Redemption Christian

Sophomores (4)
> Dante Buford … 6-7, 205, F … Greenville, SC / Arlington County, Florida
> Jamuni McNeace … 6-10, 202, C … Allen, Texas
> Rashard Odomes … 6-6, SG … Copperas Cove, TX
> Christian James … 6-4, SG … Bellaire, TX

Freshmen (2 so far)
> Payton Pritchard ... 6-0, 190, PG ... West Linn, Oregon
> Kristian Doolittle ... 6-6, 215, SF ... Edmond, OK (Memorial)

In addition to high school recruits, there is certainly room for a stud transfer to add in there somewhere.

Interestingly, that projected 10 player roster for 2016-17 is well balanced by position.

2 Point Guards: Woodard, Pritchard
4 Wings: Buford, Odomes, James, Doolittle
4 Posts: Manyang, Lattin, McNeace, Cole

With up to 3 more scholarships available in 2016-17.

Maybe 4 if Cole graduates early and goes to med school as has been rumored.

I hope Cole stays. He has been, and is a good Sooner. FWIW, I thought he looked the best I have ever seen him in practice this week. He was getting his share of rebounds and was hitting short jumpers from the wings. It is not all bad to have a hard working upperclassman as the 10th or 11th or 12th player on the team.

I agree he seems to be a great kid ..... and outstanding student. Leaving early would be his choice if he wants to get started on his post-graduate studies. I didn't mean to imply he might get pushed out the door. He's an example of what you want all the players doing academically. You also want all the players to emulate his study habits and discipline.

I had that same thought. I guess it's ok since it's not in the same class. But I think this has a little bit to do with Mcgusty don't you? I mean I imagine Lon doesn't throw offers out to people just to lure in there teammates but I would think he watched JJ play and thought "heck he's good and it couldn't hurt our chances with McGusty."
