2017 possible Targets

What type of player is Juiston?

It's impossible not to be skeptical of JUCO guys after a decade of low impact, fringe rotation players. If he could be a high energy 12-14 minute guy off the bench that would be a great add.

OU has also offered Harmon's Denton Guyer teammate, Jalen Wilson. I started to follow Wilson because his mother and most of his family are from Ada. They're also big OU fans. Jalen is listed as a 6' 5" 185 SF now. But when I saw them play their freshmen season, he played the two and swung to the one when Harmon was not in the game.

Harmon is a true point guard, but I think Wilson could play the two in college, and possibly swing to the one if need be. I should also add that both players have visited OU unofficially. It would be great to see them continue their career in a Sooner uniform in 2019.

Watched him play at NJCAA... he has potential and kind of reminds me of Roe... good vision, can take guys off the dribble and score... can also turn his back to the basket with some post moves... pretty athletic and a guy who can adjust people's shots at the rim..imo he is not an upgrade over our current bigs who play meaningful minutes, but provides good depth.

So, this guy is available: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/66760/sean-obi

I was hoping we would pursue him the first time around, when he transferred from Rice to Duke. He just hasn't been able to crack Duke's ridiculous big man rotation. Available immediately as a grad transfer.

Chase Jeter, also from Duke is transferring, although he is a regular transfer who would sit out a year and then have two to play. He was a highly touted kid from Vegas who was also buried on the depth chart. I would take either of them.

He's interesting if he's healthy.

At 6' 9" 255, I like Obi's size. I couldn't help but notice that he averaged a double double at Rice two years ago, so he not without some ability.

I've heard from a very good source that OU is REALLY interested in Juiston but can't contact him until a scholarship opens up. What he can do that none of our PF's can do besides Doolittle is rebound.

Why can't we contact him? Teams offer scholarships they don't have all the time. See Kentucky.

I don't know. Maybe you're right and I'm mixing him up with a school who hasn't released a player officially who has announced his intention to transfer. But Juiston is going to be a juco grad. I guess they tell him that they're pretty sure they have a current player transferring. Then he tells a writer that OU is recruiting him because someone is transferring out..... when OU hasn't annouced anything.

Kentucky does it because they have multiple players declare for the NBA every year. No need to be discreet.

I could see Buford transferring

One reason for not transferring is he has already used his redshirt year. He would be throwing away his junior year unless he goes D2. Maybe he stays at OU and graduates this year, and then transfers as a graduate and gets to play both years. By all accounts he is a good teammate and players look up to him.

By the way, I haven't heard anything about him currently considering a transfer. I don't know his status.

Thats interesting. I've only seen him in a limited capacity and I thoroughly trust Lon and his staff... But I believe he's a depth guy at least for the first year. That's a good thing, especially if we have a scholly open up from one of our bigs... The game I watched (semi-finals) was against the better team than they played in the finals. He didn't dominate the boards in that game. I just don't see him being an upgrade over doolittle in that department for sure, and am not sure he will be that much better in big 12 play than McNeace & Lattin... Obviously this is JMO.

#Sooners coach Lon Kruger says adding a transfer is a possibility to fill spot vacated by Strong-Moore. Wants experience w/ young roster

Say what?? Lol

Sources maintain that Bolden is expected to transfer closer to his Dallas home -- either TCU, SMU or Texas.

I hope and trust Mr. Bolden knows that Norman is five miles closer to Dallas than Austin is.

Well, the article only mentioned TCU, SMU or Texas as possible destinations...but I guess that could change.

I would love to have him!!! Maybe Trae can give him a holla!!!!

I'm guessing Kruger needs a grad transfer to contribute immediately. Bolden will have to redshirt. He needs someone to complement Trae while he has him.

Compliment Trae's sophomore year when Latin graduates.
