2017 possible Targets

Got to see him play in February of 2016 on a visit to friends back in Albuquerque. Really good shooter but really temperamental. I had heard he might be "looking" as a grad transfer.

Maybe he had had a great game when you saw him, but he just shot 33% from 3 point land this season. He was, however, a much more efficient and better offensive player last season. Maybe that's more the real him.

Grayson Allen 2.0? Noticed he has had a tripping problem in the past. If he goes back to New Mexico I believe he has a one game suspension to serve.

Sometimes you can take a risk and it pays off. Nigel Goss is a perfect example. Change of scenery helps.

Burton comes to mind for me. He was a hot head at Marquette and worked out for ISU

Still, Kruger doesn't put up with bad attitudes. Grandstaff learned that real quick

Any news on when "you know who" is set to announce he's transferring? Still hearing this week Coach?

Yeah should by the end of the week. I got a text after I inquired and it was "be patient"

with so much movement at the end of each season perhaps that 13th scholly should be in a hip pocket and saved for a special circumstance. The 13th guy is never going to be a factor so make it Preferred walk-on. Then if a grad student or someone bolts or changes his mind late you always have 1 spot open.
If not give it to a walk-on SR for his last year as a reward.
No

Just watched the Juiston kid from Hutch in the first round of the NJCAA tournament. He had 29pts, 11rebs, and 4assists against St Pete Florida in the first round game. He looks like the real deal and can definitely be a player in D-1. All of the games of the tourney are on NJCAAtv.com. Hutch plays again in the next round tomorrow at 6 p.m.

Didn't KU offer him? I know people around Hutch love him and I have heard he will be a legit game changer at the next level.

Marial Shayok is transferring from UVA, I think as a grad transfer. He'd be a good addition, although I don't think there are any ties to OU.

Thanks for the report, sooner8693! Sounds like Juiston may be exactly what OU needs next season. Last time I checked he didn't have an OU offer yet. That may change soon if one of our players transfers and frees up a scholarship.

You are welcome. I grew up in Hutch. Several close friends still live in Hutch. In jr high, high school, and at Hutch Juco we would attend every game of the National Tourney every year. Have seen some incredible talent come through the tourney over the years. It is a great tourney in a community that absolutely loves and embraces it. So, we all still follow the tourney closely, especially years when Hutch is in. Hutch also has a point guard, Samajae Haynes-Jones, that will be at WSU next year. He has a very nice jump shot with a natural smooth release. There are several other players on the Hutch team that will eventually end up at D1 schools. A couple of big time freshman. Also have a 7'1" white kid from Serbia that is very athletic for his size. Hit a 3 from the top of the key in today's game.

appreciate the info, but Nikola Scekic (7'1 serbian) is actually a sophomore since he went to New Mexico for a year.

Haynes-Jones is certainly interesting, seems like someone that will do very well at WSU.

Will be intrigued to see where Juiston goes.

You are indeed correct, the big kid is a sophomore. My wording may have implied he was a freshman. Sorry.

Juiston with 23 & 16 as the Blue Dragons edge Odessa 89-86. They won it at the FT line (I'm not sure of the exact margin, but they had to have shot around 30 more FT's than Odessa).
Juiston really stepped it up on the offensive end in the last 6-7 minutes. If Hutch hits a decent free throw percentage, they win easily.

I am guessing it is Lattin as a grad transfer. Hope I'm wrong because I really like his effort and athleticism.
