New topic - possible targets thread

Coming from the dude who thinks Haith is a good coach, I'm not shocked you believe this.

So now both OSU and Tulsa will be better than OU. You want to say ORU and OCCC will be better than OU next?

He created a thread with the title "Frank Haith and TU have a well assembled roster" and then makes the following statement, "Would Tulsa beat OU next year? Probably not because the talent level is different." You follow by making the following statement "So now both OSU and Tulsa will be better than OU."

I don't think we have much chance at Trice.

Yes we do want grad transfers as they should be ready to help immediately and we have a great class started for 2019.

That sucks. Who do we have a shot at?

Tell me please what is enticing about starting for a team that finishes 7th-8th in the conference with a losing record when they can go elsewhere playing on a winning team and compete for a conference championship. Even the pukes in Stoolwater have more to sell than do the Sooners.

Wow dumb AF... playing time is prolly generally atleast 75% why a kid commits anywhere.. and where talking about transfers that have even more limited time left.. please think before posting

OSU will be better next season. This Weathers kid they got in transfer looks legit and I expect McGriff to take a leap. They are out shopping for 2 more players I think so we will see who they get.

Same story every year from you.. whos the star juco/transfer that's gonna take over the league next year??

Did you bank all of our returning players improving and getting better too? Cuz they sure didn't

1.) I don't think OSU has a juco on their roster
2.) Muni and James absolutely got better this year. I expect Muni to be really good next season. It's hard to make statements like "OU is gonna be better" when they have 7-8 guys playing the same position and zero point guards on roster. We have to wait and see what OU's complete team looks like.

They do... They have 2 point guards, 2 shooting guards, 2 small forwards, and 4 post players. They've got good shooters, a few good wings, and an overall roster that makes sense. That is relevant when you consider OU's roster is a mess. I was simply making a comparison.

Yep... OU brings in players to compete in the Big 12. Tulsa brings in players to compete in the American. Every now and then TU puts a team on the floor that can compete, but its been awhile. Otherwise, they just play in their league.

Haith went 30-5 in his first season at Missouri with like 8 scholarship players on roster, and won the Big 12 Tournament. He was named the AP Coach of the Year after that season. He was a finalist for Naismith Coach of the Year Award after his first season at Miami.

He has taken Miami, Missouri, and Tulsa to the NCAA Tournament.

He went 23-10 in his second season at Mizzou... Went 22-11 the next year.

Then he got fired for cheating and went to TU.

At TU he has gone:

23-11
20-12
15-17
19-12

They have finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in their league.

I mean... it seems pretty clear to me the can guy can coach. Saying he is a good coach is not some kind of absurd statement.. The 15-17 year at TU they lost over 80% of their scoring and rebounding from the previous year.

Frank Haith went 30-5 with all of Mike Anderson's players who were finally upperclassmen, and then lost to a 15 seed. He then went 23-11 and got bounced in the 1st round again. The following year, he didn't even make the NCAA tournament, and got busted by the NCAA.

He then, took over with Danny Manning's players and has been downhill since losing Danny's players. So if a good coach is doing decent when the previous coach leaves for a better job and you take their players and do decent the 1st year, yeah, Haith is a good coach. If coaching involves recruiting and Xs and Os, then no, Haith isn't a good coach, and that's been proven during his play calling at every school he's been. Won't shock me if he finds a way to leave Tulsa for another school who loses their coach to a better program just so he can take their players rather than coaching and building his own players, which he can't do.

Per Twitter.... OU has offered devonte bandoo from Hutchinson CC

Is the staff actively recruiting 2018 6'11" C Carlos Curry? I see he has an offer, but haven't heard any chatter about him.

OU is also in contact with Ehab Amin - grad transfer from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
