New topic - possible targets thread

Matthew Moyer 6'8 F from Syracuse is transferring. He averaged 3.2 ppg in 16 minutes as a freshman.

Too bad Jalen Crutchfield already signed with Stetson. He might've been a SG OU could've gotten easily. I'm not sure how OU-level he would've been though.

That's all I'm saying.

If someone wants to critique our team rebounding, they'll get no argument from me. We definitely could have been a better rebounding team. But Brady tends to get singled out by some posters, and that criticism is simply not supported by the stats.

And for the record, I don't give two hoots whether a rebound is the result of luck or hustle -- just grab the dang ball after a missed shot. If a player exhibits a knack for being where the ball is after a miss, that's plenty good enough for me.

Biggest rebounding problem is Lattin And muni go for blocks and if they don't get it no one is there blocking out their man.

The problem with signing any transfer other than a graduate transfer is immediately eligibility. This team needs guys able to play right now.

Agreed. I just listed the Syracuse guy as a possibility if all of the other open spots were filled. They could maybe afford to redshirt him for 2019 and he would have a lot of eligibility left. But, obviously, OU needs guys for 2018.

He's not close to OU level. Really like his game though.

Taylor from Evansville would help a bunch but so far he isn't taking our calls.

Don't blame him. He knows he's a highly touted transfer and wants to go somewhere big that will make the tournament.

Absolutely would love him here, but understand why he wouldn't.

I wasn't sure of his level of game, but at 6'3, and being the son of Chris Crutchfield, I figured he might've been an option if OU had an available scholarship at the time he signed with Stetson. He's listed as the #3 recruit in the State of Oklahoma. However, I don't follow the high schools close enough to know the level of quality of different kids, unless they are a Shake Milton or a Trae Young-type.

No surprise. He’s probably the top grad transfer on the market, and has his pick of schools including some of the “blue bloods”. If we keep casting our net, surely we’ll catch a big fish sometime.

Absolutely right. I honestly think we will sign a good 2019 class. Espececially if we keep DeVion Harmon and get his teammate, Jalen Wilson. We need players who can play and help next season.

I think OU point guard commit, De’Vion Harmon, is the key to our 2019 class. If our coaches can convince Jalen Wilson to join him next season, we will be well on our way to plugging the holes left by the transfers and TY’s early departure with two top 50 nationally ranked players.

By the way, Wilson said in an interview I saw online last week that he is 6’ 8” now. Picture a muscled up 6’ 8” small forward with guard skills. When I watched Denton-Guyer on television in the state play offs two years ago, he played the two, but moved over to the point when Harmon needed a breather.

Brangers is kind of a mess... he's been committed to multiple schools and seems to have issues. He is a good 3pt shooter though. Mitchell went to juco from Baylor.. He will have a good impact wherever he lands.

I listed the guys I did because they are tied to OU in some form or fashion. A recruiting website or blurb mentioned who they were being recruited by.

Brangers declared for the NBA Draft today.

Update....

Antun Maricevic is visting Tulsa today, and also just visited USF (South Florida). OSU has offered him but don't know yet if he has visited Stillwater.

Ricky Torres just got an offer from Wichita State... That makes his offers Wichita State, Virginia Tech, Washington State, SMU, DePaul, and a few others.

I like Torres from his film. Like his shooting. We just got a SG commit that shot 40% from 3 at ORU, so there's another SG we have. Torres would be good IMO.

As I mentioned on the other thread, this probably means we won't hear anything else on the player front for a couple of weeks. Since signing day is April 11th, it's a bit risky to bring guys in on April 13th. If OU doesn't get both of them, there may not be many or any options left for the 2 schollies for next year, and there may be no PG.

Do Calixte or Trice have any other confirmed visits scheduled? Calixte is apparently being pursued by both Arizona and Missouri, according to a twitter post that I saw earlier.

Arizona is about the one place I would absolutely stay away from unless I just couldn't get playing time anywhere else. Anything could happen there at any time.

Hopefully that will work in OU's favor here. I'm less worried about Missouri, but both have strong basketball traditions in P5 conferences and would have a chance to make it to the Dance next season.

It looks like OU may be getting a visit from Pacific grad transfer Miles Reynolds now.

13.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg and 2.8 apg this past season for Pacific.
