New topic - possible targets thread

Arizona is about the one place I would absolutely stay away from unless I just couldn't get playing time anywhere else. Anything could happen there at any time.

and then said questioning recruit is taken outside to see the beautiful tanned blonde bodies in 2-piece.

As I mentioned on the other thread, this probably means we won't hear anything else on the player front for a couple of weeks. Since signing day is April 11th, it's a bit risky to bring guys in on April 13th. If OU doesn't get both of them, there may not be many or any options left for the 2 schollies for next year, and there may be no PG.

Do Calixte or Trice have any other confirmed visits scheduled? Calixte is apparently being pursued by both Arizona and Missouri, according to a twitter post that I saw earlier.

I saw where Bruce Weber will visit Trice at Wabash today. If he is still available for the scheduled visit to OU on the 13th, I like our chances.

You would think OU would be the top pick for whatever point guard we want... We literally have no competition on the roster. You commit, you start.

KSU has an intriguing product to sell at the moment. Just came off an elite 8 run and they return everyone for next year that mattered to this year's team unless a surprise transfer happens. I think they expect some to leave but not in their top 7-8 guys.

It looks like OU may be getting a visit from Pacific grad transfer Miles Reynolds now.

13.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg and 2.8 apg this past season for Pacific.

Reynolds will be visiting OU on April 5th.

Another visitor

Miles Reynolds from Pacific. He's a grad transfer, former 3* player. 6'2" PG

Reynold’s profile on the Pacific’s web site. His shooting from three, a respectable 37% last season, has increased appreciably every season of his college career. That seems to suggest that he doesn’t shy away from working hard to improve his game.

Sign as many grad transfers up as possible. Need all the help we can get to keep the program afloat until we can start bringing in 4 year talent.

Updates....

Antun Maricevic is off the board. Has chosen South Florida. Will be curious to see how he does in the American. They were 10-22 last year but many jucos like to go somewhere they can start, and that is likely the case in Tampa.

Austin Trice announced a decision "soon" on Twitter... choosing between OU, Illinois, New Mexico, South Florida, Kansas State, and Washington State. Illinois and New Mexico are thought to be the favorites, and one wonders if the log jam at OU will make him hesitant to come to OU.

Ricky Torres continues to get offers and interest, but no news of his situation. Same with Devonte Bandoo. All we know about Bandoo is that offers are coming in and WVU is high on his list.

Based on recent news on this board, OU seems much more interested in D1 transfers than going hard after the better juco talent. Kris Martin, the guy from Maine, and a few others. They better start locking some people in or they will be left holding the bag.

Saw where Austin Trice would make his second visit to K-State, so the Cats seem to be a major player for his services along with Illinois. Maine’s Aaron Calixte, the grad transfer PG I want the most, is scheduled to visit OU April 13th. Trice also scheduled a visit that same weekend. If they somehow make it to Norman uncommitted, I like our chances to sign one or both of these players.

Add a combo guard/shooter like Martin, grad transfer Miles Reynolds, or one of your juco tranfers, and we can call it a job well done to fill our basic needs for next season.

It has nothing to do with it fitting one's agenda. Either there is a difference or there is not. Finding a wallet full of money is either different than earning it yourself or they are one in the same. I should have known that a retort, free of drama, was too much to ask.

As a season ticket holder that attended every home game I can tell you Brady earned his boards as much as or more than any member on the team except perhaps McNease and Lattin.

Tell me please what is enticing about starting for a team that finishes 7th-8th in the conference with a losing record when they can go elsewhere playing on a winning team and compete for a conference championship. Even the pukes in Stoolwater have more to sell than do the Sooners.

Here's another one of those "being OSU is better than being OU because not making the NCAA tournament and playing in the NIT is better than being an NCAA tournament team" posts.

Some people dig deep to tell us how awful OU basketball is.

OSU has nothing to offer. Have you paid attention to their program since Eddie Sutton left?

A chance to start or play major minutes is important to all of these kids. The recruits available now are not high-profile players who are all but guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup at most schools. That’s not the case at OU if you’re a point guard. Heck, I wouldn’t be too worried about finding a spot in the rotation if I was a high-motor big like Austin Trice. He already knows he can outwork every returning player on our roster.

While it’s true OSU looked better finishing the season than OU, I’m not sure they’ll have more to sell a potential recruit. The Pokes lost three key players to graduation (Carroll, Solomon and Smith). A quick glance at their commitments in the 2018 class tells me they have some work to do to make up for those players. The two post players committed right now, one ranked #260 and the other #389 nationally, do not impress me all that much. That may change between now and the April signing date.

Because kids want to play. OU football fans try to make the same argument you are making, and it's silly. Playing on the best team isn't the driving motivation for most of these kids.

OSU will be better next season. This Weathers kid they got in transfer looks legit and I expect McGriff to take a leap. They are out shopping for 2 more players I think so we will see who they get.

They lost their 3 best players. It’s highly doubtful that they will be better. With what they currently have in the bag, I can guarantee they will be worse. If they sign an impact transfer, their ceiling would be this year’s season.

Coming from the dude who thinks Haith is a good coach, I'm not shocked you believe this.

So now both OSU and Tulsa will be better than OU. You want to say ORU and OCCC will be better than OU next?

I don't think we have much chance at Trice.

Yes we do want grad transfers as they should be ready to help immediately and we have a great class started for 2019.
