2017 possible Targets

Do you really believe they're losing all 5 starters? They lose Mason, Jackson, and Lucas. By all accounts Graham is returning along with Mykhailiuk, and both start. They will also return Bragg and Vick if they aren't in jail. Then their 7' center Azuibuke returns .... out with injury.

They have the #5 recruit in Billy Preston coming in who will start from day one, along with a couple of SG transfers that are pretty good. The cupboard isn't bare at KU, and Juiston would have a lot of competition for playing time.

Lots of talk Mykhailiuk may be gone to go play pro in Europe. I've heard he almost left after last season but decided to return.

Ada, ya think by end of week? or waiting til after tourny?

Also, if ya can...will it "surprise" us or not? lol...never hurts to ask!

I wish I knew, kc. I have a feeling nothing will surprise you, including my response. ;)

Another possibility is Michael Porter Jr. :D

One of the Mizzou Rivals guys is apparently saying that MPJ might do his one year at Mizzou even without Romar. Maybe he'd rather play with Trae some more. Lol

Can someone please spill the beans on why Grandstaff left? I know it was "mutual", but what in the world was wrong with him here? He transfered again and seems to be working his tail off to provide for his son.

He didn't like going to class. It's a team rule and exceptions can't be made. Austin didn't like the student part of student/athlete.

What Usedtobe said

Kruger requires you to go to class, even has someone drop in to make sure basketball players are in class, Grandstaff didn't want to go to class, felt like he didn't need to and could pass without going. Kruger said that wasn't an option and said if he didn't like that rule, he would allow him to go somewhere else.

The rest is history.

If someone is leaving, OU should make a push with Porter Jr. Lots of smoke out of Washington is that Romar feels like he will be fired, and therefore open Porter back up. Missouri will likely land him should that happen, but no reason OU shouldn't go after Porter with Trae.

If Porter goes somewhere else 90% chance it's Mizzou. They will probably hire Cuonzo Martin who recruits really well. But if you're Kruger you might as well go all in. Unless it's James transferring all the other possible transfers can be replaced by people on the roster or coming in.

yep he is almost a lock to leave this season and word is that graham is leaning toward leaving also ..

Yep. Missouri is offering Martin 3.5 million a year.

Also, if Porter leaves, it will likely be for Missouri, but like I said, you go all in for him with Trae and make him say no.

I've heard the opposite on both, but it's from KU people who obviously have a bias. Graham knows he's not making the NBA, and knows the only way he can improve his stock is to take over the team next year with Mason gone. Svi is in an interesting position. Newman will start, as he's NBA ready, Vick and Svi will be fighting for the last guard/SF spot. The 7 footer and Preston will likely be the other two starters.

I don't disagree with you except Graham's stock isn't going to improve at this point. And, Svi I think is ready to get closer to home. He's not an NBA player so why stay here any longer than he needs?

Graham's stock could improve just because the draft next year won't be as loaded. He's not a 1st rounder either year. On Svi, I have no clue. I could see him leaving. I could see him staying just for the free education. No clue. Graham IMO should stay though.

Svi won't need an education if he's going to play pro ball in Europe, if he isn't nba material...don't know.

Course, I guess ya could argue he could have played pro ball out of HS there...maybe he does think NBA or business here in USA.

Why wouldn't he need an education just because he's going to play pro ball in Europe?

guess I should have said, at this point, he'll be getting paid pretty well..can always finish later. Just curious about a US degree...vs a school in Europe?

This is all predicated on he not being an NBA guy..if there is no way he'd make the NBA then why not go now and make his $ while he's young.

Oh yes he can always finish later & should. I have no issues with a guy delaying his education to go play professionally, but he should always go back & get a degree. I think most, if not all, D1 colleges allow you to finish your degree at any time for free if on a bball or fball scholarship.

Graham and svi are most likely gone according to Jayhawks fans. Graham knows he isn't going to improve his stock all that much and svi is not NBA quality. He's better off getting another year of pay.

A reliable poster on Soonerscoop says DSM will be gone in the next week.

Makes a lot of sense to me. Kinda would like to see what he could do with a healthy shoulder but his minutes are going to disappear with young and shep with another year under his belt.

Is he leaving to find more playing time or did Kruger boot him?
