Alright, the 2017 class is wrapped up. Anybody with sources or connections have any insight on realistic targets? Any big name guys we have a legit shot at? Is the Trae Young effect going to be a thing? Any info is appreciated. I know it's early, but I'm pumped.

Khavon moore 5* sf from Georgia visited this year.

Quentin grimes 4* guard from Houston visited in August.

Treyvon hopkins 3* guard from ok.

Jordan lathon 3* from Missouri guard visiting this weekend. Same aau team as trae.

Those are the only ones I know we have a chance with right now.

I knew about Moore. But I figured he was a long-shot.

Quentin Grimes is a 5-star in 247. He's a big-time recruit that is probably going to one of the blueblood schools. I heard Duke but he is CB'd to KU 83% and Duke 17%.

Beat them before, we can do it again!:lon

I saw Quentin Grimes play at the The Woodlands HS last week. He wants to get an offer from Duke.
He is about the size and build as Christian James but is a little quicker and does not force shots. He jumps very well and is a good passer. He will be a top 50 prospect.

I tweeted about OU getting Trae Young and said we need to lock down Keyshawn Embry and Trey'von Hopkins next year (midwest city and Carl Albert) and Trey'von Hopkins liked and retweeted it. Thought that was interesting.

I love getting oklahoma kids. Missing out on Shake Milton really was a huge blow to us (bigger than Prichard imo)

Embry will get that offer soon.

Hopkins I don't think will. He's d1 obviously but I don't think he's OU level. At least not yet.

Grimes and Moore are main targets. They are the big fish.

Another is Brock Cunningham

I like your choice of Keyshawn Embery. CoachTalk told me two weeks ago OU's coaches have an interest in him, so I checked him out online by watching every video I could find. He's a 6' 3" (6' 4" depending on the web site) combo guard with good handles who is really good at driving the lane and finishing in traffic. He also has a nice touch from the perimeter. I didn't see enough of him on video to know for sure, but I think he could swing to the one if need be. I'll be surprised if his stock doesn't rise his senior season. OU hasn't offered yet, but I think they will if it does.

Then again, with Trae Young on board now, I think our coaches may turn their attention to signing bigger fish nationally than local three and four star recruits. Trae may already have his sights set on some five star players he has rubbed shoulders with in the national AAU tournaments he has participated in. Who wouldn't want to play with a point guard like him?

Just to be honest with you, Keyshawn is probably more around 6'2 unless he has had a growth spurt.

HE IS REALLY GOOD. I hope OU goes after him. He is explosive for a guard and would be a great addition.

Coach, you think we have a legit shot at Moore?

Embry plays for PWP in the summer time. Every now and then you have guys that will choose a school that wears under armour. Diamond stone did, trevon duval did at first but has since changed.

Shoe companies play a big part. More so than most think.

Embry is already top 150. I think he'll be top 100 after the summer time.

He's a big dog. I think to be honest its slim but they've been on him for a long time. They started his 9th grade year I think.

It helped with Trae and kids see that loyalty.

Kick the tires for as long as you can, see what happens.

Team will lose Lattin and Strong-Moore... does that mean it will be a guard and a big in 2018? Or just 2 best available?

Hopkins visiting Baylor. Maybe we offer down the road.

No idea but I would think best two available. We will need to re-load on bigs soon though. I'm not sure what to think about polla.

We'll have at least one extra scholarship available next year. I don't think there is any chance there is no attrition after next year. As for what we need, for '18-'19 we should go all in for an impact grad transfer.

Assuming Trae isn't one and done, we will have be an extremely experienced team poised to make a final four run, with a big whole in the middle. Go find a Tashawn Thomas who can be an impact starter from day 1. You can sell playing time and legitimate championship aspirations, so we should be competitive for anyone out there.
