336 current at Ken Pom, out of 365.
I know it's just ONE game, but our scheduling needs to change.

100% need to pull in more of the mid-tier schools. Would love to see some Ivy league schools.
What is weird to me is that while we have won plenty of games against sub-.300 teams, I don't know that we've played many good games against those teams.

We haven't, and that hurts us even more. Some people downplay it and say that a win by 15 is still a win, but like it or not, it's been known for a long, long time that the committee considers the metrics, and the metrics factor in every offensive and defensive possession of the season. So, when you play miserable opponents, you better beat the piss out of them for 40 minutes rather than sleep walking through half (or more) of the game.

It's true that we slept walk through half of these games. But I don't think we were dinged for not winning by enough
St. Francis: 36

Oral Roberts: 24
Alcorn State: 19
Kansas City: 22
Stetson: 53
MVSU: 24
we could have won all those games by one point......and if we had won 1 or 2 more games in the sec by one point....we would have been in the tournament.
we just didn't win enough games.

That's five of seven where we didn't win by enough. Did it make the difference this season? Maybe, maybe not. Did it help us? Absolutely not.

Most the analytics say 30+ points when you are playing teams in the 300s. Our defensive metrics in particular took a beating in several of those games because we gave up way too many points to some laughably bad offenses.

I really don't care if we win by 25 or 31. That isn't going to make any meaningful difference

Well, all due respect, what you think doesn't matter. Nor does what I think matter. What matters are the metrics that are expressly weighed by the committee in selecting the teams that get to compete in the NCAA tournament. Whether you or I think it should be that way is irrelevant. If the committee adjusts their criteria and says that games played after 8:00 PM on Tuesdays get additional weight, it would be stupid, but as long as everyone knows it, then teams should adjust accordingly. And many of the metrics consider every possession over the course of the season.
As for my source, it is so commonly accepted that it would be like asking me for my source if I say the sky is blue. Numerous bracket experts have said some version of, "If you play a lot of really bad Q4 teams, you need to blow them out." And our own season showed that -- our KemPom numbers improved after Stetson, for example, and went down after some of the Q4 games where we played poorly and our defense allowed too many points per possession.
