Well, all due respect, what you think doesn't matter. Nor does what I think matter. What matters are the metrics that are expressly weighed by the committee in selecting the teams that get to compete in the NCAA tournament. Whether you or I think it should be that way is irrelevant. If the committee adjusts their criteria and says that games played after 8:00 PM on Tuesdays get additional weight, it would be stupid, but as long as everyone knows it, then teams should adjust accordingly. And many of the metrics consider every possession over the course of the season.
As for my source, it is so commonly accepted that it would be like asking me for my source if I say the sky is blue. Numerous bracket experts have said some version of, "If you play a lot of really bad Q4 teams, you need to blow them out." And our own season showed that -- our KemPom numbers improved after Stetson, for example, and went down after some of the Q4 games where we played poorly and our defense allowed too many points per possession.
