'24 NCAA Tourney Discussion Thread

It’s early but Day 1 reinforcing sec and mwc were massively overrated. In Vegas rn and faded every sec/mwc team except Tennessee yesterday. Needless to say, it was a good day of sports betting.
Not sure how you can say that about the SEC but not the Big 12.

BYU lost as a 6 to an 11 in a game they trailed most of the game.
TT lost by double digits as a 6 to an 11.
KU was in a nail-biter as a 4 against a 13 (missing a player, that factors in some).
UT won as a 7 vs a 10 but didn't score 30 points in either half. Ugly game.

KU and UT are probably both gone after the next round.

Well, I guess since so many of our posters think the SEC is overrated and that we should have no problem finishing top 5 or 6 next season, we can count on them making no excuses if we finish lower and can’t make the tourney again!

The SEC lost a 3 and a 6 with the Big 12 losing two 6's. On paper, Texas and KU are right where they should be. KU was also leading by 22 in that nail biter. If you are going to say BYU "trailed most of the game" then adding KU was "winning comfortably" most of the game would apply here as well.

"Factors in some" is a little funny given he turned out to be the main scoring threat for KU from the outside (credit to Wichita) and one of if not their best defenders. I can't stand KU but they were a favorable upset pick when McCullar was announced to miss the tourney and no matter how they got it done, they won and moved on.

BYU battled back but lost a close one in the end but the Tech game was the biggest head scratcher to me. NC State has found something in themselves that they hadn't had all year before the ACC tourney and now look like they should have been a top 4 team in the ACC.

Today will be a worse day for the Big 12 if they lose either Houston or Baylor.

Iowa State dominated their game too. Kansas and Texas may have not looked that great but they won.

SEC looked worse.

Mississippi State got blown out by a very below average, and lower seeded Michigan State team.
South Carolina as a higher seed weren't really that competitive vs Oregon in a 6/11 game.
Kentucky trailed almost all of the game vs Oakland which was a 3/14 game.
Tennessee did get a blow out win over St. Peters.

Baylor is killing Toothpaste U.

Florida Atlantic and Northwestern is one of the worst games in the tournament so far. May see one team get to 20 points.

Northwestern is shooting 21% and only trails by 2.

NW/FAU is at halftime.

20-19 FAU. Northwestern is shooting just under 22% and down just 1.

I can't help but be a Rodney Terry fan. 42-20 at Texas as head coach, Elite 8 in year 1, going to 2nd round in year 2. 4-1 in the NCAA Tournament at Texas in 2 years so far. Team plays hard. I don't think they even have much talent on this years team. Hopefully they can get past Tennessee and into the Sweet 16.
Youre crazy. He sucks imo and hes gonna put tejas in a tough bind with PR in the future imo

Colgate is shooting lights out and still down 10 to Baylor.

Now Colgate went cold. This one may already be over.

Look at this nasty set from Bucky last night:

porter would have his mind blown trying to chart up a play like this.. Porter would have passed deep to a guard and wed do a high screen and get doubled and prolly throw a TO to lose.

Baylor on pace for over 100 points.

They have more points alone than NW/FAU combined for in the first half.

NW/FAU are suddenly playing at a blazing pace.

Northwestern went from hovering around 20% from the field to where they can't miss.

Looks like Northwestern will run away with it in OT.

davis might want to take a peek at the clock during end of game situations.
