Give me a break. If we don't expect our 6 seeds to beat 11 seeds, our league definitely isn't a good as some of you claim.

Toss up. That is ridiculous.
It's cause the committee underseeds the actual 11 seeds. Over the past 10 years, 11 seeds are 19-17 vs 6 seeds. 11 seeds are also 49-26 ATS in round of 64 and round of 32 since 2010.

It's a cop out to support/excuse the Big 12 struggling.

Period.

Look at the last decade in the tournament

The 11 has the better record vs the 6 seed

This year 3 11s won

2023 1 won

2022 3 11s won

21 2 won

2019 2 won

2018 2 won

2017 3 won

2016 3 won

2015 2 won

2014 2 won

Do the math the 11 seed has more wins than the 6 seed over that span.

Thank you both for verifiable facts.

Again ... Facts > Eye Test.

Weren’t we all excited because Jacob Groves played the best game of his life against KU in the tourney? Then struggled when he got to OU in the Big 12 night in and night out? I don’t think it’s fair to judge the Big 12 based on the tourney results.

But again, that specific game was not a toss up. Some 11s are actually favored against 6s, or the line is within a point or two. Not true in that one. Most experts felt BYU had the easiest 6/11.

One game? No.
One year? No.
The ENTIRE Big 12, over the last several tournaments? Yes.

And it's not like they've struggled a BUNCH more than other conferences, but I think I could put together some stats that show the Big 12 hasn't been some all time Elite conference some like around here like to say it's been. But again, they're only saying that to support OU struggling. So.....

The last 24 years the 6 seed is win 56%
The last decade 11 seeds have a higher winning percentage than 6 seeds

Oh I get the Big 12 has struggled in the tournament. But I don’t think it’s a good metric to judge how tough a conference is. Anything can happen in the tournament. It can be weird.

Look at Moser. If you would only look at his tournament record you would think he’s a good coach. But on the flip side the tournament isn’t a good way of judging whether a coach or team or conference is good. Just my opinion.

Lol whatever dude. You are constantly presented with facts and you ignore them
So what exactly do those numbers tell you?

Two more questions:
1. What metric or stat, before the games were actually played supports that the underdog shouldn't be the underdog in those games?
2. Is there are stats that support that, all that is doing is saying that those teams are OVERRATED as 6 seeds, which kind of supports the point I'm ultimately trying to make.

So again, the Big 12 is and has been overrated by many. You don't have to like that, but it's the truth.

To question 1:

Ken Pom
BYU - 18
Utah State - 49

NET
BYU - 12
Utah State - 38

But yes, sure, please, continue telling me how that game was a toss up because some 11 seed knocked off some 6 seed 10 years ago.

Good grief.

You said that 6/11 aren’t toss ups. They literally are

Dude. It wasn’t just some 11 seed 10 years ago.

11 seeds literally have won more than 6 seeds in that time frame. What is hard about this?
