Do players not understand that you can foul a guy that doesn't have the ball? Big man caught it in the corner and even though he passed it right back to the inbounder (good FT shooter), they could have fouled the original catcher. Or foul a guy that is cutting hard to set a screen, etc.

Yep...when I played, I would physically go to one of the refs during a dead ball situation and tell them to watch me because I was going to foul a particular player (who we thought sucked at FTs). 9 times out of 10, they would call it and we would get the guy we wanted at the line.

You have to be careful not to get an intentional, but there are EASY ways to do that. Run through the guy. Grab his arm if he is running away from you. Reach in. Hard bumps.

It just kills me. It's like watching a player falling out of bounds throw the ball up for grabs instead of bouncing it off the defenders lower leg.
