Can we get the 3rd seed in the Big 12 tourney? I would mind a third crack at KSU now that our offense is clicking.

I understand we can if we win out and the pokes lose out.

I think that is right and would give us the advantage in the tiebreaker with a sweep of Baylor. I suspect OSU will win at least one of their two remaining games so I am figuring we'll get 4th seed but still a reasonable chance for 3rd seed.

I just want to win our last 2 games and I don't care about what else happens with other teams.

We will still get a third crack if KSU makes it to the finals.

Big 12 said that KU, KSU, and osu are the top three seeds. So it looks like they are overlooking something or we are 4th or worse.

I would love to be the 3rd seed, but I don't see osu losing to k-state at home....especially if Spradling is still unable to play for K-state. Having said that, we've all been a bit uneasy about probably having to face ISU in the quarters in KC. Yet after yesterday, I think we all saw that when isu is uncomfortable on the offensive end and they aren't hitting their 3s, then they can be beaten rather easily. As this team has progressed, i think they have the confidence to beat anyone...anywhere.

I don't see how that would be the case if we lose out and OU wins out.

The tiebreaker after head-to-head is record against highest seeded teams. In this scenario, OSU and OU would have the same records until you get down to Baylor:

KU: 1-1
KSU: 1-1
ISU: 1-1
Baylor: OSU 1-1; OU 2-0

In this case, I would think OU would get the #3.

OSU still has 2 tough games so anything is possible. We need to just take care of our business and see where the chips fall.

I also believe this is correct. I think it will be moot but you never know.

OU is 0-2 vs KSU.

We Were swept by KSU

If we win out and osu loses out we will be the 3rd seed

Tiebreakers. The first criteria in the breaking of ties in the standings shall be head-to-head competition of tied teams. The following procedure will be used to establish the postseason championship seeds when ties exist.

Ties Involving Two Teams.

Results of head-to-head competition during the regular season.

Each team's record vs. the team occupying the highest position in the final regular-season standings, and then continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage.

OSU would be 0-2 also, if they lose out.

This.

And FWIW, the Big 12 tweeted out yesterday that they were incorrect on their initial note about OSU being locked to the #3.

If OSU loses their last two and OU wins their last two, OU is the #3.

I would predict that OSU loses to ISU but I think they will beat KSU in Stillwater. I think ISU is very tough at home.

This is kind of what I expect.

ISU has been doing the "Jeckyll and Hyde" thing all season... they'll play one stinker and then burn the house down the next night, especially if they're playing at home.

Since they stunk on Saturday against OU, I expect them to come out and hit about 15-16 threes against us on Wednesday... probably something like what they did against OU in Ames.
