Our new coach must have read his post!

These are just offers, right? Not sure why everyone’s over the moon. I’ll wait to cheer until a few of these guys agree to come to OU.

Good for you! Do the rest of us have your permission to get excited that our new coach hit the ground running with offers for next year’s class?

Shooters shoot, Porter! That list of teams doesn’t scare me either.

I agree rather see him recruiting than out playing golf

It’s exciting to see our coach aggressively recruiting highly ranked bigs.
We have not done much of that recently.
Rivals has Jonas as the #5 center in the country and 247 composite has him at #7. And he had 3 point range.

Mason is a great addition, he was a late bloomer averaging less than 15 ppg as a Jr but scoring 22+ per as a SR ... He’s a three point shooter at 44% from the 3 ...more of a combo guard than pure point. I think he plays from minute one and is a kid who will get better every year and be here 4 years.
Plus he’s the first of what we hope to be a KC and Midwest pipeline. Tamar Bates could be #2 from KC (By way of Fla) Former tx commit might follow Shaka to Marquette but sure would be a great get for Moser! At 6’4 he can handle the rock, shoot the three at 44%, is a great defender that can play effectively at the 1-3 spots.

As a long time Sooner fan I’m very excited to see our new staff working hard building their initial roster. I’ll bet they pull some pretty good talent.

Moser’s excitement is permeating through your the program and into the ears of recruits.

So far the new staff’s M.O. appears to be offering perimeter shooters at all positions ..the way basketball is played today it hurts a team with poor perimeter shooters on the court.
Years past a team with a good low post player could win by pounding opponents into submission in the paint without much help from the perimeter - but not these days.

All Sooner fans should be pumped about all things OU basketball right now!

I mean, I guess. Just feels like we’re getting awfully worked up over guys whose level of interest in OU is unclear.

Offering hasn't been the problem. We've offered a lot of talented big men in recent years. Most thought Lon was going to get Daimion Collins in the 2021 class. We went hard after Timme a couple of years ago. Almost always several offers to big men in the top 100 according to 247.

We didn't land those guys though, and ended up with a bunch of projects, and most none of them developed.

And right or wrong, I don't think Lon was going after the big, legit C types. He wanted to play smaller and more versatile, for the most part. I don't really care either way, just pointing out that I don't think he wanted the big traditional center types.

Thanks. I feel better now that you have signed off on our enthusiastic display of wasted energy. Maybe you can conduct an online class for over-exuberant fans to teach us how to behave. ;)
