I noticed some of our kind aggie brethren are taking jabs at our attendance over on OP. I agree with them. It sucks. But someone needs to tell them that this is not 2005.

They drew around 4K on a Saturday with no home football game and a team that SHOULD be pretty darn good this year. Am I missing something? Are they that dense? We have outdrawn them in the non-conference (butts in the seats) for the past two seasons. I find it amusing that they are taking jabs at us.

It will only get worse for them as they continue to be a "football school".

Silly aggies.

It's not like they are getting great attendance for games either. The only school that can really make fun of anyone else about attendance in the Big 12 is Kansas and they really don't care. Nor should they.

I will say there were more people at Saturday's game than any other non-con game from last year (except for probably Pacific last year). So, I do see some improvement, mainly with the students.

I think the non-football game weekend actually hurts OSU right now, we have very few hardcore fans. So, most of the fans that live in OKC or Tulsa didn't make the drive because they didn't want to miss any of the football game on TV.

OSU is still struggling from losing the Stillwater retirement demographic that were loyal Eddie followers.

Wait a second...I thought every single game is packed at the HISTORIC Gallagher-Iba Arena???? At least that's what some of my OSU friends tell me...

The B.O. emitted by the Great Unwashed just makes it seem like the arena is packed. :)

I can't wait until next Saturday when we remind them who their daddy is.

Would anybody be surprised if Kansas beats them this week? One thing for certain, whenever something good is expected of okie a&m they face plant immediately. We have decades of evidence.

[Off-Topic] Kansas is the definition of a trap game; at the very least, it will be closer than anyone is expecting. [/Off-Topic]

If it were any other team besides KU (or possibly Colorado), I could possibly see it being a trap game.

But Kansas is so terrible, Ok. State will cruise.

trap game? they are okie a&m, every game is a potential loss. home or away

Did I miss something? I thought this was a basketball forum?

We'll kill KU on Saturday. We play well on the road.

On topic - we certainly have no room to talk trash about attendence any more.

What I used to always say was "do you ever see thread on OSU message boards with topics like, 'how do we fix attendence?'"... well the answer is... YES we do now.

End of discussion. We can't talk trash.

One comment though:

No - we didn't have a home football game, but we did have a massive road game where there were AT LEAST 10-12,000 OSU fans in attendence. Many of those fans (myself included) would have been in GIA on Saturday if they weren't in Austin.

Had there been a home game, we would've had much better attendence because of the crowd that was already planning on being in Stillwater for the football game. I did that one time last year... we had a basketball game at like noon and a football game at 7 p.m. I went to both.

I admire and respect that dedication, but how many other people were there for both. I am just asking because for a lot of older fans that is a huge time commitment on a Saturday.

I don't know...

I'm not saying that GIA would have been sold out or anything.

All I'm saying is that pretty much every hard core OSU fan that I know was in Austin this past Saturday. We had a HUGE crowd there. There were at least 10-12,000 in the stadium and many more who were just there to party. :)

Many of those people are season-ticket holders for basketball. It had to have SOME effect on the basketball game's attendence.

a hot rock.

that's an aggie irony.

he uses it to iron his shirty.
