Akol Mawein Commits to OU

i think there is a reasonable chance that Akol starts for OU at some point next season

Arkansas fans are saying he was going to be the worst player on their roster, so...

:ez-laugh:

Just like Tulsa fans were relieved that Chargois didn't choose them. Amazing how fans bases work, isn't it?

Not unlike some on here saying Bryce isn't that good either. :eddie187_jpg_xs: Some fans just can't accept that players prefer to play for other teams for whatever reason.

YEP!

It's really weird. Especially with Thompson. I was excited about the possibility of him ending up at OU, but I feel like I understand his goal for transferring, and OU may not be the best fit. That isn't a diss on the OU program.

Mawein looks competitive to me. Should be 8 or 9 in rotation. Hill is an important factor. But if he doesn't start looking to score he could be bypassed by Mawein. Roland also a factor in depth.

i think there is a chance that Hill plays the 3 much more than the 4 .. under moser

I assume you mean, Noland. I’m really high on him. He’s a scorer deluxe with a readymade college body who will be hard to keep on the bench IMO. I can’t wait to see him play!

With who losing minutes? I don't like Hill at the three in front of Goldwire, Gibson, Harkless, and possibly Noland. And if we sign another guard, I'll probably like him at the three over Hill too.

Hill is either going to get a lot better on offense, or find himself out of the rotation. I'm not sure which is more likely honestly, but Moser is going to play his guys all other things being equal.

If he can shoot it from outside, he's going to play a LOT this year. The other aspects of his game are big 12 ready ...

Hill will never play on the perimeter... he's a tweener.

Glad OU got Mawein... He played on a juco team with 3-4 D1 players so the scoring was all spread out... The 5 rebounds per game worries me. We will see. I was higher on a few others, but this is a good commit either way.

Do tell given OU needed Post help and the guy is ranked the #1 PF in juco....

He played with the big 7’0” guy who committed to TCU and another 6’8” guy who committed to one of the Cal State schools and it’s likely at least two other guys from that team will play D1 ball. However I don’t think A.M. is a real good rebounder. He can run the floor. He’s very fluid handling and shooting the ball. He can get out on the break, he can drive and dunk, he can pull up, but he’s more of a finesse player than a banger.
