off the top of my head it will include, OU, Duke, UNC, Kansas, UCLA. Thats pretty good company and im sure there are a couple of others. Thats why i feel going to the tourney is like going to bowl games for the football team. It should be the standard.

Duke, UNC, Kansas, Michigan State, Florida and who else? It will be a short list.

Missouri doesn't make that list. I don't think Texas makes it. I don't think OSU makes it. In fact, I don't think anyone from the Big XII other than OU and KU have done it. (KU has done even more).

Well, it looks like there are 35 bowl games for a total of 70 teams (out of 117 D1 teams) qualifying. Heck, I don't even think you HAVE to have a winning record any more. Not to mention the Big XII is GUARANTEED a certain number of teams make a bowl.

Out of roughly 350 D1 BB teams, 68 make the tourney. Of that 68, 37 are at-large selections.

So, you do the math...MUCH harder.

You're taking my statement as a shot at OU and Capel...which it is not. I was talking about the overall perception for any program's prestige across 50-60 years.

I know all about OU's rich history, but personally, it doesn't mean anything to me. Present or recent history are the only accolades I pay attention to. Winning titles and making Final Fours 30-40 years ago doesn't resonate with most players and recruits. It's a cool tidbit which fans love to discuss, but it is all about at have you done for me lately.

You should be banned for a statement like this. Not for being negative, but for being uneducated.

The OU program is DEFINITELY a top 20 program of all time and quite possibly a top 10-15 program over the last 30 years.

I'm comparing OU's tradition to that of OU's football. OU football had a long stretch of bad years, but was able to rebound due to its tradition rich football past.

North Carolina and KU are BB programs that have bigtime tradition equivalent to that of OU football.

OU BB isn't near that group, so dips take greater hits. The BB tradition at OU isn't enough to have three horrid years and expect recruits to jump on the bandwagon any time soon. Once again, this isn't UNC, KU, Duke or UK.

Unless this debacle is corrected soon, OU could be facing long-term adversity in recruiting.

OU used to hold their own in the BigXII conference outside of KU. Now, I read press clippings of how great it is to beat CU and Tech. Shouldn't that just be expected at OU?
