I published a book in 2000, and while the experience overall was every bit as satisfying as I'd hoped, the one thing that never happened (aside from a movie deal) that I would have thoroughly enjoyed was coming across someone I didn't know -- on the subway, sitting on a park bench, wherever -- who was reading my book.

Could still happen, I suppose, but the odds are against it.

Not sure I'd want to stumble upon someone reading Sooner-related posts, though.
