Apparently I was wrong

That roster next year would definitely help ease the transition for someone like Martin...give him a boost in recruiting.

An added benefit with Martin is he's from East St. Louis. Missouri isn't technically home, but it's damn close. He has tons of ties in areas Missouri recruits (or should be recruiting), and might be able to salvage Otto Porter to Mizzou (signed one of his cousins a year or two earlier, recruited Otto, as well).

definitely. IMO he's a good choice. Plus, no offense to Nolan et al but Martin has a little better "geneology" on some better offense. Overall Mizzou still has the option of taking a risk on a guy more than OU does.

Mizzou has a helluva roster coming back next season.. whoever the new coach is will be walking into a top 4 team in the Big 12 and sure-fire NCAA Tournament team.

That doesnt happen often.

The roster sets up nicely for a new coach, but we'd be going from the "fastest 40 minutes" to one of the slower paced teams in college basketball (Missouri State ranked in the 300s this year in tempo). I could live with that, though (not really my preferred style, but winning trumps all).

He's also a finalist for Josh Richardson, which would be interesting...

I wouldn't expect him to play the same tempo as he was there. Not even close. That's not what he comes from and he was merely accommodating the skills of his group.

This....he will adapt his style from this year. Nearly impossible not to with the talent on the roster.

I mean - with the nimbleness and handspeed of some of those Mizzou kids on D I don't see how he could play that slow a tempo if he even tried. It will undoubtedly pick up.
