No. Anthony Davis is a quarter. His PER is 34.8 so far this season & he's 21 years old.

It's obviously subjective, but the cutoff for quarter is much lower than Anthony Davis.

With that said, none of those players are quarters. If any of them is your second-best player, you're almost certainly not a contender.

I hold out hope for Favors developing into a quarter, though. He has elite defensive potential, which is extremely valuable in a big man.

It is definitely subjective. For me it goes back to somebody using the phrase when dissecting trade scenarios. The thesis is that a quarter is an elite player who you can build around. And that dimes are complimentary starting players on playoff teams and nickels are the other NBA starting players.

5 nickels or even 3 dimes don't equal a quarter in a trade. Take Dirk for example, the dude is the epitome of a quarter, whatever nickels and dimes surround him the Mavs are in the hunt. Same goes for Lebron, Duncan, Kobe (unless he's surrounded by pennies lol), Durant. Very few guys are legit quarters. Anthony Davis is looking like a quarter.

Those pennies you were raving about a few months ago?

Compare Boozer, Xavier Henry, Ed Davis & Jordan Hill to Boris Diaw, Patty Mills & Danny Green when the Spurs picked them up. Virtually identical profiles. Davis, Hill & Boozer all have significantly higher advanced rebounding stats over Gasol.

We need Julius Randle to be our Kawhi Leonard. Nick Young is better than Marco Belinelli.

Jeremy Lin was +31 in the 2 games he started vs Parker last year. This is not Smush Parker.

Gotta find a piece at SF. Wes Johnson doesn't cut it. Not excited about Evan Turner but he's an option. Beasley has the metrics you want in shooting the 3 and rebounding but he falls asleep on the court.
