By my count we are at 12 scholarships after adding Henry, Hornbeak and Hield. Due to sanctions does that max us out, or are we back to 13 now? If we're back to 13, does Cole get a schollie?

It has been unclear on Cole but I think he is getting a scholarship. OU is allowed 13 next year. I think OU is allowed 13 this year. I am pretty sure we self imposed last season.

OU will be back to 13 in 2012-13, OU will sign the best available player they can.

I vote we look real close at transfers. I stopped by CLK's office [at his suggestion] and threw that out there..

A name I heard recently is Matt Korcheck (6-9, 233 from Cochise JUCO in Arizona). Averaged 8 and 6 his freshman year while shooting a league best 64% from the field. Thus far he is averaging around 19/7/2 during his SOPH season. Guy I talked to called him a "banger".

Team profile site says he is being recruited by Pitt, OU , Mizzou, Auburn, Zona, Marquette, Oregon and New Mexico. Originally committed to UTEP out of HS. Also heard that Baylor is in the mix.

Game this season:

By Matt Hickman

Herald/Review

DOUGLAS — With University of Arizona head coach Sean Miller in the stands scouting him, Cochise College center Matt Korcheck saw limited playing time in the first half due to foul trouble, but came back strong in the second, scoring 22 points and pulling down eight rebounds Wednesday night on the Douglas campus.

Running on all cylinders, the Apaches managed just fine with Korcheck on the bench much of the first half, scoring the first 11 points on their way to a 56-30 halftime lead and 107-86 victory over Glendale Community College.

Might be a nice get (especially if Arent doesn't pan out and become the defensive force we need in the interior).

I think a transfer player is a very good possibility.
Ideally, a M'Baye clone.
Athletic, long, PF/C type kid.

With the number of seniors OU will have the fact that the player has to sit out is not a big deal. Minutes at the 4/5 position are going to be tight anyway with
3 seniors
1 junior
But a junior player added to the roster for 2013-2014 season would be fine with so many potential newcomers, possibly as many as 5 HS kids.
Same reason Cole will go on ship in 2013-2014

Size is always nice, but with Blair and Grooms graduating, a point guard would be just as valuable.

How about former St. John's guard Nurideen Lindsey?

Sam,
Agreed transfer PG would be great use as well.
Then you'd have to commit at least 3 ships in 2012-2013 class to post players. 2 HS/1 juco would be ideal since you'd only have M'Baye/Cole returning.
And recruiting for HS PGs seems to be going better than post players so far.

Best available would be my choice.

I think it is very possible a transfer who would have to sit out next year. We will have a bunch of seniors next year. A year to develope is always good.

So are we done with James Woodard? I know that we got two players with similar size, but it seems that we are going to be in trouble with Jordan if we do not have James? Noticed that Calipari has already creeped in and before long I think that there will be more...

James signed with TU.
