Missouri pulled on out late against Western Illinois which was posted earlier.
Kansas State struggled against Presbyterian.
Baylor wins by 14 over Jackson State
Nebraska loses at Vanderbilt by 10 which probably isn't really that bad a loss.
Texas and Illinois are in a high scoring battle at half time 45 all.

Haven't kept up with Vandy this year, but if they're like they've been in year's past that's not a bad loss at all.

Texas and Illinois is a really good game, 58-56 Horns with 11:20 left.

Texas has the same free throw problems this year they had last year

Thompson is the new scape goat, 1-9 from the line wow.

Hack a Thompson rule should be effect in Norman.

I get the impression that overall the Horns aren't the brightest group of players on or off the court.

Nebraska had a 3 point lead with 7 minutes left but got outscored 16-3 the rest of the way.

Texas is really good. They are back.

Addition by subtraction.

What happened to Verez Ward? I noticed he's not on the Longhorns roster.

He wanted to talk to Barnes about his future. Barnes kept putting him off. He took the future into his own hands and transferred to Auburn. That's the story I heard.

They are going to need to get more out of their backcourt if they want to have a widely successful season. Joseph and Balbay stunk it up offensively last night, if J'Covan hadn't come in and put up some point it would have truely been an atrocious effort.

With that said, Jordan Hamilton is my favorite ball-hog in America.

Joseph had 10 and you should be able to pencil J'Covan in for 10ish. With the post guys scoring 15+ and Hamilton scoring 20+ that is fine.

But ya, they really need Joseph and Brown to be more reliable.

This board needs a Longhorn fan. We have OSU, MU, KU, Kstate, and Baylor representation. We need need UT, A&M, ISU, and Tech fans (or one from each).

I think I have said it before, but Hamilton is going to single-handedly win some games and single-handedly lose some games for this Texas team.

Hamilton is only dropping 20 a night if he gets more shots (which I am in favor of because I love his one-pass and jack mentality).

Balbay, Joseph, Brown Lucas last night: 6-24 FG%, 1-8 3-PT%, 6 assists. Sorry, that is not going to get it done.

I thought Illinois played poorly last night but could be because Texas really got after them defensively. Heard Rick Barnes spent a lot of time with Jerry Sloan (Utah Jazz) in the offseason so perhaps the offensive schemes will improve. They were pitiful last year.

Balbay is a premier defender and ball handler- no doubt in my mind. The Pittsburgh/ Texas game tonight is going to be interesting to me because Pitt has a great backcourt with Gibbs and Wannamaker. If UT's guards play well tonight then they are legit this year in my mind.

I used to root for all big 12 teams in non-conference except Texas, but now I even root for Texas in these non-conference games. Guess I feel a little pity on the evil empire after a year of being Baylor's whipping boy in football and men's basketball...
