Last five minutes of the first half, the lineup that Lon had in cost OU the game.

Lon's only taken 5 different teams to the NCAA's, lol. Come on you guys and gals, Lon is a GREAT coach and none of you all know why he stayed with that group - could have been injuries/attitudes/etc. We could go back to having Jeff who couldn't coach his way out of a sack. I'll take Lon's decisions over internet posters ALL day, lol. Is he perfect? NO. Do you all know what was going on with the other players and why he left them in? HECK NO. So guess all you want but remember who is one of the best coaches in the country.
Tubbs said many times OU was turning down good shots to take bad shots and that is what OU will learn from tonight. Lon was trying like crazy to point this out - you could tell by watching him on the sidelines during free throws and time outs. Sometimes you have to let the players feel the pain of a loss to understand what coach is telling you should be followed and followed immediately.
Guys, you don't give up a 14 pt lead with less than 5 mins to go in the 1st half and come out on top. LTech, knew at that time they could beat us and that is what they did. We took bad shots both halves, turn the ball over way to many times at very critical times, while some say the coaching was questionable, the coaches are not on the court.
Now for the good of this game, these kids are now ready for conference play because of this overtime loss. They will learn from their mistakes and take it to texass.
Happy New Year to all you Sooners!
I'm pretty good at my job, but I have bad days. This was a bad day for Lon, as well as the players.
You can always expect a post like this after a loss.
We lost the game because we went too much one on one and took really tough shots under pressure. And because we didn't handle their ball screens very well. And our freshman point guard had what I hope is his worst game of the year.
Not that Kruger is a perfect coach by any means but I'm a little reluctant to pull out the got outcoached card every time we lose.

I missed the first half but I tend to think one big reason OU lost that game was Hornbeak's injury. It makes OU thin when OU has foul trouble. There were certainly others such as a few key missed free throws, turn overs, some bad shot selection and poor defense.
