Did not get to watch the game. How did Baylor look? Game seemed closer then I thaught it would be. Was Baylor resting players?

I didn't get to see the entire game. From what I saw, if Baylor had played anyone but TCU, they would have lost. I doubt that has anything to do with their game against us today, though.

hard to get fired up for a 0-18 team. That's why our players and coaches deserve credit for going into TCU and not letting them think they had a chance.

Definitely wasn't the impressive blowout they would have liked. Were only up 12 at half.

Not to mention Amric Fields is still out with his injury so they don't have their best post player to matchup with Jefferson and Austin inside.

While a TCU upset was best case scenario, I'm just glad they pushed them so all 5 baylor starters played 28+ minutes. They were outrebounded by 17, shot 45.3% to Baylor's 54.5% and still kept it an 8 point game by making 3's and winning the turnover battle.

If we come out shooting well we should handle them, especially since they will have under 20 hours between games

Baylor controlled the game pretty much throughout. It was a 10-15 pt lead for Baylor most of the game until TCU hit a couple of shots near the end to make it a little closer. And yes, Drew played a lot of guys. I think the announcer said at the end he would be surprised if Baylor had one guy play more than 25 mins.......smartest thing Drew has done as a coach in a long time.....

EDIT:....Check that, dahl is right, Baylor ended up playing 8 guys and 3 starters played over 30 mins....so much for Drew being smart....

They killed TCU on the boards in the 1st half. If not for a hot shooter and some turnovers, Baylor should have led by 20+ at half. They basically coasted in the 2nd half. The game wasn't nearly as close as the final score might indicate IMHO.

We need to be able to hold our own on the boards tonight, and keep Spangler out of foul trouble. They're going to try and pound it inside.

im glad we play baylor.. although there is a chance we can lose as opposed to playing TCU, it will be another quality win against a tourney team and another game to battle test our players.

now that being said, i will be crushed if we lose ha

It seemed to me that they built a first half lead and then coasted. They weren't playing like the hottest team in the Big 12. It wasn't an inspired performance, but they clearly outplayed TCU.

It's never easy to beat any opponent three times in one season, especially one with more than enough enough talent to turn the tables on you. Baylor is a dangerous team because they have so many good players, as well as a size advantage.

On paper, they're a bad match up for us. But if our kids come ready to play and they're hitting their shots, I see a three peat in our future.

The reason they are only a bad match-up for us on paper is that their bigs don't know how to play in the paint. They have a size and length advantage, but they just don't play physical basketball. They'd rather have their bigs float around the mid-range looking for jump shots. I think we're a worse match-up for them because our guard advantage is so huge, especially with Cherry coming back down to earth after being a bit of a early conference phenom.

Baylor should have won by 20. Baylor seemed to lose focus at times. Baylor absolutely dominated TCU early.

They had to play till the end. This bodes well for us since we've had a few days off and won't be as exhausted tonight... hopefully!

The TCU fans that tuned in last night were adorable, btw. KillerFrogs is usually more active during football season, but they managed to put together four pages of depressing game thread :)

I'm glad Baylor started off with TCU in the first round. If Baylor wants to beat us they will have to play focused, disciplined basketball. Beating TCU doesn't require those so much.

This game concerns me. I've seen Baylor win the "play-in" game before and then beat KU the next day and advance to the finals (09). IMO, this game won't be affected by last nights game (for Baylor) as much as if they win tonight then tomorrows game will be affected by both previous games.

Basically, if Baylor wins, the Texas - WVU winner will almost have a cakewalk to the finals.

I am so frustrated about tonight. I am on our neighborhood HOA board and we have to meet tonight to elect officers for the new year (no other night works). We are meeting at 7. I have the sense to resign from the board just to watch the whole game from start to finish. While I have DVR'd in the past, I just don't like to do that with tourney games. Of course, (since we live in Kansas) I told them that I would guarantee that if KU or WSU was playing tonight they would have figured something else out.

Give someone a proxy. Or vote in advance by proxy. This is why you never, ever volunteer for thankless jobs like being on the HOA. (I am on one too so I am clearly not smart enough to follow my own advice).
