Last night Baylor made shots they normally don't make. Add a great defensive effort and they pulled away easily in the second half.
80.1 ppg - baylor season average on offense
75 points - last night's game
48.1% - Baylor season shooting percentage
48.4% - Baylor shooting percentage last night
59.4 PPG - baylor scoring defense on the season
65 points - last night scored by UT
The numbers that Baylor put up against UT were close to the season averages. In fact, it would have been even closer except for the little flurry at the end when UT put on the full court press against the Baylor backup players. The average margin of victory for BU for the season is 20.7 points. Baylor had Texas down by exactly 20 points with 46 seconds remaining in the game before UT put up a few "oh by the way" points which made the game look closer than it really was.
Baylor did not beat UT because of some out of the ordinary performance or a one time hot game. The "out of the ordinary" performance was that time when UT was actually able to keep the score close against Baylor.
BU is just flat out better than UT and practically ran them out of the gym(again). 11 straight wins in the series, and with a top 5 national recruiting class coming to Waco, this streak could very well live on for several more years.
