Our bench was awful, but the remainder of our non con games are mug raiser than these first five. Alabama, seton hall and msu are the tree best teams on our non con schedule, and all three of those games were neutral courts.

Hopefully Bennett, booker, and Neal can get some more game reps in the next set of games against weaker comp, we're going to need them.

OU can't have Hornbeak and Neal not scoring any points from the bench. Those guys have to produce off the bench. I am not too worried. They are both very athletic and I think they will produce this year.

Neal has a lot of games under his belt even if they were from the bench and limited minutes. I just had such high hopes for the guy to be a 6th man kind of guy but that hasn't panned out. Him and Hornbeak are VITAL in us winning the tough games. They have to give us something from the bench, be it scoring, rebounds, energy, or defense. But mainly scoring would be nice. Booker has a good shot so he may be able to do some work. These Dec games will be good to give them more experience like you said.

Did Booker do something in the Seton Hall game to got him pulled, and caused him to not play at all against MSU?

I know he gets a little shot happy at times, but he did score 5 points in 5 minutes, and I don't remember him getting beaten on defense badly against SH, but he didn't even get into the MSU game. We NEED Booker to at least be able to get 5-10 minutes per game, IMO, to rest the starters. I know we were in that MSU game the whole time, but I really think getting Booker a few minutes here or there would have been the right thing to do.

Jelon has to play better. End of Story. I've heard that he isnt taking this 6th man stuff very well... Feels he should be starting. He is the one guy that doesnt quite understand the whole concept yet.

Hopefully that will turn around soon.

it wouldn't suprise me if cousins would have reacted badly off the bench as well ..

buddy who knows but he is our best player he has to start ...

woodard i'm sure would have been fine off the bench but he is the best option at the point .. he needs to start as well ....

jelon i sure is dealing the the emotions of finding out that he is a bench player the rest of his sooner career .. hopefully he reacts well to that

Well, I think most of us thought Hornbeak would be starting too. If he isn't starting b/c he isn't better than Woodard or Cousins, he needs to suck it up. If he isn't starting b/c LK wants to bring his backup pg from off the bench, and not have them both starting, tough to argue with that, and Jelon needs to suck it up and play better.

It is entirely possible too that Jelon isn't playing well, and doesn't like coming off the bench, but that the two aren't related.

If I had a 6th man that didn't like his role, I would make a tape of great 6th men from the NBA and watch it with him. Show them Harden with the Thunder. If Hornbeak buys into the importance of this role and can produce, it will be huge for the team.

i would show him dion waiters .... 6th man to 1st round pick ..

It can't be easy essentially accepting that you're not going to be a starter likely for the rest of your career. A lot of people will choose to transfer under those circumstances, and I don't really blame them. That being said, Je'lon needs to bust his ass and accept the role (while trying to prove he deserves to be a starter) until he makes a decision about what to do. If he's pouting or getting an attitude about it, he's hurting both himself and the team.
